    Typical 'he plays in the premiership he must be good' attitude. Barton is an average footballer with an attitude problem. I would have Brown over him any day of the week - 100% passion without the worry of him snapping and getting banned for 12 games!

    Nope. Decent player, but we don't need a pseudo intellectual, high-maintenance, loose cannon disrupting the squad. Especially as we'd be paying him a small fortune.

    We have a young squad who need experienced professional players in the squad as good mentors...Mr Barton does not fill that role...a decent average player...IMO would only bring heartache

    What a bad choice. Joey Barton is not the type of player that we need right now. He obviously has some quality but no matter where he has been, he has caused trouble from the get go. He was a complete laughing stock at the end of last season and I can't understand why Celtic would even be considering him. After all the work that Neil has done to settle the squad and have a harmonic atmosphere at Celtic Park, why would he jeapordise that by bringing in such a loose cannon that would spend most of his time on the bench anyway?

    Don't want him and we don't need him.

    I keep seeing this rumor being discussed by sensible people. *? is there a chance of this happening.

    * of a human being, worst of the worst but excellent player. If he channels his attitude towards achieving results and focusing he could play at the very top

    It's actually beyond my comprehension that any Celtic fan would want to see this guy wearing the Hoops after everything he's done. I don't care how good a footballer he is or isn't, he's a horrible human being. A Hun signing if ever I saw one.

    There are very few things that Neil Lennon could do to make me feel genuinely * off with him but giving Joey Barton the chance to wear the Hoops would be one of them.
