hmm??? you say good tackle got the ball but then say he should have got a yellow?? doesnt make sence..

some angles it looks a great tackle, others it looks pretty dangerous. the ref obviously seen it as the dangerous type. the ref only seen it once, we have all it seen it plenty times and there is still a mixed reaction to it. get over it lennon and stick to worrying about how your own team perform rather than how the ref performs !!

won the ball yes so thats good but the problem was he done a big lunge and also it ended up 2 footed.... and 2 footed means red. also both feet ended off the ground also, you can see it from a certain angle

it would have been a better tackle with the one leg in and not the big lunge, always comes down to what ifs again

so yes its a red card says the laws of the game, and thats what we have to go by

Pictures and slow-mo replay show it's not a two footed challenge.. His left leg is nowhere near the player when he takes the ball..

It's because he makes the challenge at speed that everyone is saying it's two footed..
Aye it might be dangerous or even wreckless if you want to take that view but it's a yellow card offence at worst.. For it to be red it has to be considered worse than a wreckless challenge to go into the serious foul play category and the ref got it wrong IMO..

it was a wreckless challenge ! i reckon he would have got away with a yellow most weeks but you cant really complain about the red. you have said yourself it was dangerous and maybe reckless, that comment alone brings it into the red card offence

other angle like ive said you can see both legs out and the hearts player going over, again you can say things about every angle

as they say even if its dangerous or even wreckless the letter of the law says red card, thats they law mate it comes under dangerous and wreckless

problem is the game now you can;t make them types of tackles now more 5 years ago it would have been a yellow card 10 years ago it would been a telling off, mabe not even that

    the rules have changed

That's the thing , it doesn't.. Wreckless challenges are punished with a yellow card.. Lafferty got away with that on Hinkel Im sure..

It needs to be using unneccessary excessive force to be serious foul play to be a red card..

yes but didnt we moan for ages that lafferty should have been given a red?? as iv said before i can see why it was deemed a red but other angles would maybe suggest a yellow. when you tackle in that manner you always run the risk of a red card.

That was because the ball have already gone when Lafferty clattered his shin.. Im not 100% on the rules but I think making no attempt to play the ball = serious foul play or violent conduct.. red card

Yeah , I agree.. We got leniency once the game was as good as finished.. It happens often that a ref shows mercy to a team when he's maybe been heavy handed earlier in the game (maybe being unsure over his own performance) or because that team is getting a beating..

Decisions we get favouring us don't count for me.. I don't buy into any levelling of the playing field over a season and am unashamedly only fighting our own corner.. :celt_2:
