There was even a noticeable difference on Tuesday nite with Bain in goals but we know he can't be trusted to do any of the other basics correct

I don't know if there's a balance or not, I'll trust Rodgers' judgement on that. But if Rodgers thinks he needs a ball-playing goalkeeper, then we need to get him one. I know these players don't grow on trees; but in some respects it's the same as any other position. Somewhere out there there is a young goalkeeper with flaws but with the potential to become the keeper Rodgers wants and who Rodgers and Woods think they can develop.

It's not just about this season. If Rodgers can't play the way he wants because of the goalkeeper, that impacts the development of other players and the team as a whole in the medium term. If that is the case, not getting a goalkeeper is not backing Rodgers.

As I say, I don't know if this is true. I'm just saying that it's plausible and that the only one who should make the call is Rodgers. If he has said behind closed doors that we need a new keeper, we need a new keeper. If he thinks Hart is OK for now, then Hart is OK for now.

    Let's back him this time.

By the way, Bain is a shocking shotstopper. Whimsically, I wonder what if Zaluska had been born a decade later. At the time, we all felt what a massive downgrade he was on Boruc with the way keepers played back then; but I seem to remember that he was really quite good with his feet and although he was quite mediocre as a shot-stopper, Bain will likely never achieve mediocrity IMHO.

I think if an opportunity arises to get a better quality keeper that suits the style more then we’ll take it, we’ll be looking for it as well definitely as part of our scouting, I don’t think he’ll find it a disaster if we can’t get that though.

There definitely is a balance between play out at all costs and having an option to do something different, generally that’s what I prefer tbh, interestingly it’s the model that Pep’s now moved to with City that he has the option of Halaand to either hit with the ball or in behind. We don’t have the physical option, but we have the option of skipping the defence and playing in behind quick to a rapid front 3.

It requires fluency from the team, but if thats what’s better suited that’s what we should do rather than causing ourselves issues.

First time round Gordon and Boyata had a bit more leeway about playing the ball from the back, because it didn’t totally suit them.

    Yep he needs to go.

That's one of the most bizarre things I've seen a keeper do.

I'll continue to say it despite being deemed "disrespectful"..

Near decrepit in his movement when put under any degree of pressure and it's going to bite us in the *.

It's the Benny Hill school of goalkeeping.

This is why I wanted Bain in goals today. Hart's distribution and ball control are an accident waiting to happen and yes he's easily a better shot stopper than Bain but in games like this there's very little saves to be made but loads of possession play..

We need a new keeper asap.

Honestly think signing a keeper could be the difference between winning and losing the league.

He’s become a bomb scare. Never seen anyone look so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet. And his decision making at times is * baffling.

Number one priority has to be a keeper.

In fairness, the ball back from Ralston landed him in it.

A new no 1 (like Livakovic) will be the difference between bottom of the group and not (again) in UCL

He's * now sadly, even by Scottish league standards.

He barely has to do anything all game and when he does he seems to be unreliable.

Cost us a goal and almost cost us a penalty. In a home game against Ross County.

    Hopeless
