What were the ones against the Huns? I genuinely can't think of any?

. The closest in my mind would be in the 3-0 game. It was 1-0 at the time and the Huns nearly had a one-on-one with a through ball but Hart came out and smothered the ball. Don't know if it counts as a save but he read it well and acted quick. We literally went up the park and scored our second with Hatate so was a big moment.

Dude, I just turned 46 and Forster was the best shot stopper I've seen in my time period. Only Boruc (who was the best GK overall) even comes close. How many big games (European or Huns) can we point to and say that it was Hart or Gordon that won us that game? I'll always believe that as a shot stopper, he was genuinely world class both times he was here.

Sadly for his career, there's more to being a GK in the modern game than saving shots.

Totally agree with the above, reckon big FF would have saved half them goals Joe shipped last season.

A few years ago, I think so too; but he's only a year younger than Hart and a year on Spurs' bench at his age has left him a shadow of himself.

Hart has made one big blunder in a big game, the one away in Leipzig. You can point to that being the philosophy of the manager, but it’s up to the keeper to decide if a pass is on or not, and it wasn’t. Apart from that, I can’t really recall a total howler at a big time. He has been a very smart signing, and hasn’t been bad for us by any means. His leadership skills will undoubtedly play a part in the defence being as good as it has been domestically as well.

For me Joe is the goal keeper for this year.

I think you let his contract run down and then get a replacement in at the end of the year.

In an ideal world you bring in a top goalie to challenge for number 1 this year.

But, you have to be pragmatic and work with the resources you have got. Celtic have enough players taking wages, they can't afford to carry Joe's all year as well.

It won't happen. Joe is good enough for this year and barring a massive drop in form I expect he'll be here as no 1 until at least the end of his current contract.

Depending on results and his desire to continue I could even see him getting another 12 months.

My thought is enjoy/accept what you have right in front of you and spend elsewhere.

Always wary of replacing goalkeepers. You could spend 15 mill on a Gavin bazunu type and no way guarantee an improvement on hart over the course of this season coming. We aren't a great club for young goalkeepers where every little mistake can cost big points early in a season.

I'm not averse to Joe Hart being our number 1 this season. He's a decent goalkeeper. However, there are a few provisos:

    1) We should definitely be looking regardless. We should always be looking and that goes for anyone (possibly except CM).
    2) If a good young goalkeeper is available with potential development and sell-on value then we should go for it. It's up to Joe Hart to keep him out of the team.
    3) If Rodgers does want his GK pinging passes out to the wings then replacing Hart becomes a priority. I know I'm repeating myself, but telling Rodgers he has to play through the press using the same way as Ange's team because he's stuck with Joe Hart in goals is not backing him.

I think Brenda's appraisal of Hart was nothing short of insulting and disrespectful.
Youd think he was talking about an inexperienced young keeper

I know you can blame being rusty but a keeper should never be making a mistake like that..

Wasn't a shot, it was just a weak wee cross that he fumbled first....but worryingly just couldn't react to it. It was one of the most pathetic bits of goalkeeping I've seen..

An early reminder of what's needed..

You could say the exact same thing about any position on the pitch, but you wouldn't because it doesn't really make sense. Why would you be more wary of replacing a goalkeeper than a centre back, or left winger, or striker?

I'm honestly staggered that anyone who watches us regularly seems to think we'll struggle to sign a better keeper than Hart. He's absolutely wooden with the ball at his feet, or when he has to run. I know it's pre-season but he's been a bomb scare so far here. I'm sure his numbers last season, regarding goals conceded and expected goals conceded etc, made for poor reading.

We need a quality keeper in, Hart can stay till the end of the season when his deal runs out but he simply can’t be our first choice now.

I love the big man, and this isn't me judging him purely off a friendly, but he needs replaced.

Have zero issues keeping him until the end of the season, but the fact we were even interested in a GK like livakovic tells me we don't see him as first choice this year. Need to get his replacement in pronto.

Sames happened the previous 2 preseasons tbh, he even stated himself that preseason is for having fun and trying things you don't get to do during the season.

I'd be surprised if we don't bring in a new keeper, always thought him getting a 3 year deal instead of 4/5 like everyone else coming in was sign of him not being considered a long term fix, he should be experienced backup this season not no1.

Occasionally my Samsung changes his name to that. The reason I think it's a genuine mistake is that little apostrophe thing ' <--- is what the phone changed it too.

I think most are in agreement that he is on a downward spiral, as great a signing as he's been, we need better.

Well my apologies if that's what happened. I've seen a couple on here appear to refer to him in that manner. We need to stand united.

I agree. The phone doesn't change it to just "brenda" but if you type brendan, then it changes it to "Brenda's" really annoying.
