A lot of utter waffle.

 

We only gave him a 3 year deal so I think Ange always had his age and possible decline in mind when he came in, I'll be surprised and a bit disappointed if we don't bring in a new keeper this summer, 1-2 seasons as first choice and then his last year as experienced backup to our new no1 and he'll have been a great piece of business for us.

 

I like Joe and think he's a good keeper. But I have noticed that his reaction times aren't the best and that he's often beaten with a low shot. Still makes important saves but we've had better keepers. He's got a season left in him then he's away I would think.

 

Name one thing I said that isn't true?

It's like some have folk in the support have an inferiority complex about what we can realistically achieve as a club. Why can't we aim for better than what we have? Do you genuinely believe that we couldn't get better than Hart? Or Greg Taylor? Matt O'Riley? Liel Abada? I could go on.

We shouldn't operate in the transfer market based on the fear of not being able to replace very replaceable players. Thankfully I don't think Ange does. That's sevco-like mentality and all it leads to is stagnation.

 

Just one? Sure thing. I have never, ever, seen any Celtic fan say an average or sub par player is irreplaceable. The weirdest thing about saying that on the Joe Hart thread is that a large number of fans this season have said we need to be looking to the future as he’s at the tail end of his career.

 

Just to chime in and back you up with No2, where has ANYONE used hyperbolic language about an inability to replace Greg Taylor?

Most fans, given the microcosm of opinion on here, want a more talented and complete LB brought in asap. The popular sentiment being we CAN get a superior player in and it should be done this summer.

* it, here's number 3, scouts OBVIOUSLY did their job or "due diligence" regarding Bernabei, as he's a talented young player. Finished article? Nowhere near it. Good enough to start? Nope. But obviously the scouts and ANGE saw enough to merit the move.

 

I doubt very much if the scouts or Ange had any real say or saw enough in Bernabei, the guy is a complete dud and couldn't keep chickens out of a coop. I think we took the word of some obscure South American scout that Bernabei was the real deal, and said Bobs your Uncle, and got fucken scammed.

 

We never seem to have much luck shopping in South America for defenders. Scandinavia is where we want to go.

 

Just because folk on a forum don't know better keepers doesn't mean their isn't any, that's why clubs have scouting networks

Not that I'm desperate for us to replace Hart, but two that come to mind as ones that might be worth a punt are Hermansen at Brondy and noppert at Heerenveeen

What's more likely? That the Scouts and Ange ran the rule over Bernabei, and decided he had potential.... Or Ange and club were conned by a report from a SA scout WITHOUT looking at the player properly?

You talk absolute * * mate. In fact, I don't ever think I've seen a positive comment from you about ANY of our players.

I'll just leave this here;

Think how was and had been fantastic at a time we needed a goalie he provided good leadership too however I do think it's time to start phasing him out

Jeez just seen the weekend goals, absolutely awful. Ive loved the big man and he came in and done a great job but hes clearly on the wane and we must improve.

We can't go into next season with Hart as our main goalie, but he's honestly one of our most likeable players in recent times.

Would be beyond happy if he somehow found his form again.

 

I don't fancy Hart to save any direct shot at him these days. Stiff as a board like riga mortis is setting in.
