Joe Hart

His experience/leadership was exactly what we needed during a total rebuild. He’s been a great signing in that respect and he’s made big saves in big games too.

But his best days are behind him and I think the mistakes (or brain farts) are becoming a bit more regular.

Two bad mistakes yesterday gave Aberdeen their only chances of the game.

Definitely need to upgrade in the summer. Get Barkas and Bain off the books, frees up wages to bring in a new number 1.

 

Since Ange won't tone down his insistence on build-up from the back including using the GK as means of recycling possession, we should make a big expenditure on a new, long-term keeper. I do wonder what kind of keeper we could get for the money we spent on CCV.

 

Need a better keeper for next season, brilliant character but he is a bombscare.

 

Have to say, I really hope we are actively scouting for a long term replacement for him. For all of Hart's experience and still has something to bring to the table but I really don't think he has quite been at the top of his game since that head injury in the 9-0 win at United, wayyy back when. Hopefully, with the sort of thorough planning that Ange has instilled at the club, that this is in the pipeline.

 

He’s Loving it

 

He didn't have a lot to do, but what he did have to do he was poor.

He had a few easy catches and punched them out for corners. That's the last thing we need against them.

He never looked at ease at all. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a mistake, but I thought a good keeper would have stopped their goal.

 

Did fine. Only complaint about him today is just he needs to be more aware of options around him when playing out from the back. Ended up blasting the ball out of play when a quick look to his left he'd have seen Taylor (I think it was) miles in space.

 

Haven't seen him that animated since he was shouting at the Euro 2016 ball boys.

Superb.

 

Me and my son when we saw that just said he gets it. Special club.

 

I love him I really do. Think he’s been great for us. But that being said, not a great performance today. Would look to rest him and give siegrist a game or two when he’s back fit

 

Got a wee lump in the throat at his interview at the end with walk on getting blasted.

He's got a mistake in him but he's a leader.

 

An absolutely inspired signing. No way we make the progress we have done without him coming in, and taking on the managers instructions.

You’ve got to remember how good Joe Hart was, still is, but particularly was. 2x EPL winner, over 70 caps for England, played with some of the best players of this generation.

When younger players come in to the club and see that he is buying in to what the manager wants, they’re going to do it without blinking.

That can’t be underestimated, and proves why you still and always will need good senior pros in any successful Celtic team.

 

That interview man. This is a guy that’s had a massive career. He’s done a * of a lot in football.

And look just how much that was a special moment for him. Love it. He’s a massive part of the ethos of this team. And that ethos is * exceptional.

 

I think it's very harsh to call him a bombscare imo.

Barkas was a bomb scare, Hart isn't. He needs competition in the summer, 100%, but he's still a solid GK and one * of a leader.

 

Poor from Joe, no save to make, at least 2 times he punched when he should have caught and a found touch too often.

 

I was just about to come on and say the same m8. He needs to be claiming those crosses and only punch when he really needs to. Love the big guy but he does give me the fear sometimes
