Good bit of experience today when Jenz was hurt and walking off, Hart realised that Starfelt had gone down the tunnel so he ran over to tell Jenz to milk it..

Celtic 3 clean sheets in 18 games, Hart 2 in 16. 5 penalties 0 saved. Not had back to back clean sheets in 3 months...

Again, not all of this is on Joe alone, but it's not just in Europe where it cost us, it is now 13 in 11 league games (incl 2 clean sheets), which doesn't make for great reading on the face of it. Technically we do still have the best defensive record in the League Admittedly I'm only just now catching up on everything as have been out all day, but even still...

I wonder... if the head injury that he had early in the 9-0 game v United (I think it was), I wonder if that knocked his confidence since then, even though he proved he was tough as teak and the adrenaline got him through that day, I wonder if it has had a bit of a knock on effect overall since then?

That sounds like a good little bit of smart play. Has done something like that a couple of times since he has joined. Hopefully a sign he is getting that knack back.

He's brought a wealth of experience which has been good for the players, but not the long term answer.

Update from Ange earlier on why Joe wasn’t involved today

He said: "Joe was a bit sore after the last game.

I think that's why he only got a 3 year deal, at his age he just can't be considered a long term solution. I'd guess the plan was we get 1 hopefully 2 solid seasons out of him with his 3rd becoming the experenced backup to a new no1 . I'll be very surprised, slightly disappointed even, if he's still no1 at the start of next season. I don't think he will be though, with Ange's talk of forward planning for transfer windows.

Ideally next season we have a new nailed on no1 that's a bit more suited to playing out from the back the way Ange wants, Siegrist/Hart as backup allowing Hart's contract to run down, then young Oluwayemi hopefully being good enough to step up.

The thing is, even if we get a young absolute top drawer keeper, it's not a long-term solution as some epl * will buy him after we've suffered the 3 * seasons of learning before they finally play like big forester. What a * situation :56:

I have defended him alot, but im now a bit worried as well tbh. He's not pulling off match winning performances like he did in the beginning. We have been scoring alot so he have been getting away with not keeping any clean sheets.

Hopefully just a confidence thing because we all know that he is a great keeper on form. Not giving up on him just yet.

Is that what happened? Looked more to me like Hart noticed Jenz (who had a genuine concussion and wasn't milking anything) was struggling, ran over to check on him and then alerted the bench. Bearing in mind this was happening while the referee was allowing play to continue.

Play should never have been allowed to continue without Jenz being checked following the initial clash. It seems to have flown under the radar with most people moaning about penalties but to me that was by far the biggest refereeing * up in the match. Dangerous.

Number one priority for January should be to replace Hart imo

I don't agree. Hart will be sound to see out the season with us, not as if we're in Europe. We should wait until summer to get a new #1

We definitely need to be looking at an upgrade for the summer but I would rather prioritize a right back to replace JJ and a striker who is ruthless in front of goal. Don't care if we have to spend all the money we get from JJ, we need to get a striker in and bed them in for the champions league next year.

Yep, agreed. Summer is the time to sign a new GK.

Keepers can have a dip in form too. Still think he's a quality keeper and once he gets his confidence back and our central pairing is solidified think he'll be back to his best.

No harm in looking to the future though

I don’t think its a coincidence of why his career has went the way it did, he was a decent signing for us last season but is a weak link now imo. He interviews good and seems a decent personality but he just isn’t a very good keeper.

I don't think delaying a player with a real head injury and showing signs of concussion getting treatment because another player doesn't have a shirt is something Joe Hart would do and if it was it's not something he should be praised for.

Seems it's not just referees who don't take concussion seriously.

Would genuinely like to know what about delaying a player with concussion getting treatment (after his treatment had already been delayed by appalling refereeing) you think is an example of Hart showing "a good bit of experience" and worthy of praise but I doubt I'll find out.

Aye I must've imagined him going over to Jenz and having a word/halting him once he noticed Starfelt wasn't ready to come on and we were down to 10. Lol..
