Exactly. And Larsson was playing for a good European team not some tinpot mob who sign every player they can get their hands on.

To be fair, Chris Sutton was described as a dud after not having the best of times down at Chelsea yet look what happened when we bought him. Henrik Larsson at Feyenoord as well.

Definitely a signing that has seemingly came from nowhere but hopefully he gets actually played and it's not along the lines of a certain other loanee that we brought in a couple of years ago that hardly had a game for us i.e. Miku.

 

I'm just saying, Ronny has worked with him before so you really have to just trust your manager don't you?

You need to think he's not going to sign duds for the sake of it, he's obviously seen something in this lad before.

I've a feeling he'll be Ronny's type of wide player, able to cut in, interchange passes and have a pop at goal.

Still expect us to bring in a striker.

Horrible situation for him in Cardiff. Apart from that, he's strong, direct, and quick with a good head. Links very well with others. Not the greatest finisher but he does have a good shot if that makes sense. He's best as a second forward or winger and so won't be "replacing" Watt (using the word lightly).

Chris Sutton had already proved he was a top player though just needed a change, this guy has done nothing in his career to show he should be getting a move to Celtic especially after failing so badly at a relegated side who were struggling to get goals.

It was only last week that Ronny said he didn't like 'loanees'- why develop players for another Club and get no money for it? So as we have the option to buy in 6 months, assume Lawman has now told Ronny we are now buying players like our furniture - pay nothing for 6 months and then get it on interest free credit.

I was and am looking forward to seeing how Ronny operates - Wednesday will be first real test - and just hope we don't sell the likes of Fraser,VVD only to replace them with frees and some of Norway's finest.

 

As somebody who's seen him play at least 15-20 times, this is the closest thing to a "sure thing" I've seen us get. * bizarre this place is.

 

Deila has moulded his management career around signings like this. Highly-rated as a young player, got a move that didn't work out and got a new lease of life under different circumstances.

Hope he does well. Even if he doesn't, we say goodbye in January and that's that.
