Well, this came as a surprise...didn't even know he was linked at all until I saw this thread.

He's a decent player, think he will do well here.

It's amazing how quiet this was kept. Only 'leaked' about two hours before he signed.

A think we were all surprised with the exception of Mevin as that guy is always in the know:smiley-laughing002:

Lawwell probably phoned him up as soon as an offer was made:50:

Welcome Jo, I hope the Bhoy proves the doubters wrong, I'm definitely on the fence for this one until I've seen him play.

Would be shocked if he started the game tomorrow night, I'm guessing he'll be a bit behind the rest of the Bhoys when it comes to fitness, maybe he'll get a run out against Spurs at the weekend

Saw that we signed him yesterday but thought he was backroom staff! :smiley-laughing002: Hoping he does good, trusting Deila here.

Thought he was a defender lol. Don't know why.

Hope he settles in. Hopefully a few Norwegian lhads can give us some more info on him. As I see it, cover for Commons or pushing for a place up front.

Strong, intelligent, good at linking. Can play at multiple positions but will probably challenge for a place out wide. People are looking at his goal scoring but he's not been brought in as a forward to "replace" Watt. It's a shame he came in on the same day as Watt was sent out because that's the impression some people have got.

Also, just to reiterate what I said earlier - he signed for Cardiff coming into a relegation battle while he was over a month into his offseason. It was a ridiculous situation really. I think OGS was a little starry-eyed and naïve in his approach to the last half-season.

If anybody is wondering who got the better manager - us or Cardiff - here's something to think about: OGS leaves Molde and they regain 1st place. Ronny leaves Strømsgodset and they start to struggle badly.

Happy enough with this signing the manager knows all about this guy from his time in Norway and its interesting that the 2 brightest young managers in Norwegian football both think this guy has something to offer

Odd signing, hope he does well but he doesn't have a great goal scoring record and couldn't break into a very poor Cardiff team

If he was a striker i would worry about his goals record as well, but lucky for us he is not a striker and the player himself has said he sets up goals.
Im not even worried about his lack of game time at cardiff, hartson was kept out of team by larsson and sutton and pukki was kept out of the team we signed him from but he has shown signs of being a good player for us.

Still a young guy (23)and has a few caps so signs are good. RD knows him also and that would indicate he rates him highly enough to get him here.
Attacking Midfielder too which seems to fit with RDs train of thought.

I wouldnt read too much into him not getting much game time at Cardiff, They signed him in Norways close season, plus i think OGS used all the experienced players to try get Cardiff out of jail.

Hopefully a couple more "good" signings to follow. Time will tell but look to be a decent player.

    Could be a good signing.
Good to see Ronny sign a player of his own too.

OGS obv signed him for cardiff thinking he was good enough for the premier league, he didn't get much of a chance, so in my eyes he is the same player who left Molde 6 months ago, a quality young attacking player.

Any one know how much this lad cost Cardiff?
The one thing I would add is why not just sign the player when our manager and his new coach will know all about him.

Very expereinced player for his age.
Good technical skills, reads the game well, more assists than goals. Mostly used behind the striker(s) or at the wings. Big, strong and good workrate. Lacks a bit of speed.
Came into Cardiff at the wrong time, but has been very good in Norway and at the national team. Properly bossed Raphael Varane in the u23 playoffs. (Check out this match to see his potential).
Plus The manager knows him well, and he's cost us nothing but with an option to buy.
I say this is a great piece of business.

Wow.... hasn't even played yet and is already being seen as a joke signing from so-called experts on here who've probably never even seen him play more than the odd cameo, if even that.

Ronny clearly knows him well and wants to see if he can integrate into our team and who knows where we'll go from there. He's 5 months to show something, it's a low risk signing and anything we get from him is a bonus.
