Commons' play "* poor"?

His passing is good, including those difficult through balls, his shooting from outside the box is excellent, his timing of runs into the box is excellent, he's one of our few really intelligent players, his dribbling, offensive heading and tracking back are OK. Only weak points are that I wish his close control were a bit better and his lack of pace; but even then I'd struggle to describe him as "* poor".

I guess if you had to describe anything about Commons as "* poor", you could maybe say his defensive heading: can't remember the useless * ever clearing a cross in our box.

 

If contributing to 40+ goals last season is * poor then i hope everycunt plays * poor this season. :smiley-laughing002:

 

I didn't say that was * poor, though, did I?

I said his general play is most of the time. So many times last season he played * then popped up with a goal out of nothing. That doesn't mean he played well. He's very inconsistent.

 

here this guy actaully looks quite good.was part of the youth set up at udinese for a few seasons.spent a year at stromgodset winning the norwegian cup playing 31 scoring 8.then spent 3 seasons under ole gunnar soslkjaer being one of there best players winning 2 league titles and a norwegian cup.4 caps for norway.still only 23.this seems to have a really succesful career already.his only blip was not getting a game for cardiff.really excited about this.* the haters.

 

Yet apparently he's a "diddy". Some people need to give the guy a chance.

 

If I was at Cardiff I wouldn't have wanted a game anyway.

 

Like i said mate, if he is scoring 30+ goals and assisting 10/15 then his general play can be as inconsistent as it wants to be.

What can we possibly gain from removing that from the team?

This. Against Kilmarnock when he scored a hat-trick is a perfect example, I thought his general play was awful but he put the ball in the net.

I'll be shocked if he can replicate those figures again.

You never know mate. Stranger things have happened. In a similar way, Atletico lost Falcao who scored 30+ a season and went on to almost win a double.

 

Fair point, and i do know what you are trying to say about overall play.

It would have to be someone pretty special to remove Commons though I think.
