i think Aliadiere would be a good loan signing, What i have saw of him he looks good and could maybe adapt to different positions like right-mid, hes pacy and i think he would be quite good for celtic.

Wenger seems to think Celtic is the best for Aliadere as he would get expericence especially in the champions league( if we get dere:84: ) also wenger doesnt want him to go to lyon or a french team because he is afraid Aliadiere might want to return to his homeland after a loan spell there and doesnt want him to play with a premiership team because he doesnt want him to play against arsenal.

i think he will just b a back up play 4 the 1st team i duno bout a loan spell try and sign him fs c if hes willing 2 leave arsenal and go 2 celtic cos arsenal have Henry , reyes , pires , ljunberg , and they will sign more strikers so y nat buy him fs insteafd of wasting £500,000 on a loan deal

He cant be all that bad if the gunners and Wenger are keeping him about. He is young, french and on arsenals books. At present that normaly counts for something

Just found this at http://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=336196&cc=5739 Its the first report i've seen with quotes from the player, so it all sounds good (apart from harry rednapp being desperate to give us Lundekvam - NO!)

    Aliadiere delighted with Celtic loan

Jeremie Aliadiere has revealed the prospect of Champions League football prompted him to choose Celtic for his loan spell from Arsenal.
The 22-year-old striker is set to link up with the Hoops on a year-long deal to provide him with first-team action.

Now the Gunners forward admits he would even relish the chance to play against Arsene Wenger's team.

Aliadiere told the Scottish Daily Express: 'The Champions League was a big factor in choosing Celtic.

'Everybody knows the Champions League is the competition everybody wants to play in and it would be good if I could help Celtic make an impact in the competition.

'It would also be great if we ended up playing Arsenal. That would be something special.

'If that was the case, then I'm hoping Arsene Wenger would let me play for Celtic. But I'm sure he would.'

Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has warned Strachan he faces a fight to land goalkeeper Antti Niemi.

But the Saints manager has urged his Celtic counterpart to make a move for defender Claus Lundekvam.

Redknapp told the Scottish Sun: 'I reckon you're talking at least £2.5million for Antti. But, to be honest, I'm not even thinking about selling him.

'I don't want Antti to leave because I rate him one of the top four keepers in Britain. Gordon hasn't spoken to me, although maybe he has talked to Rupert Lowe.

'Claus Lundekvam is a smashing lad who is a very experienced defender and has been a decent servant for us.

'If Gordon wants to make an offer, then all he has to do is pick up the phone and I'm sure we can do a deal.'

And just found exactly the same story here http://www.sportinglife.com/footbal...cer/05/06/28/SOCCER_Celtic.html&TEAMHD=soccer It sounds as if its a done deal.

    found this on skysports aswell

Jeremie Aliadiere has admitted that playing in the UEFA Champions League was a key factor behind his decision to move to Celtic.

The gifted French striker is expected to seal a season-long loan from Arsenal this week, after Gunners chief Arsene Wenger gave the green light for his compatriot to head out of Highbury in a bid to increase his first-team experience.

Aliadiere is determined to forge a career at Arsenal and clearly feels a season of Champions League football with The Bhoys could boost his chances of catching Wenger's eye.

"The Champions League was a big factor in choosing Celtic," Aliadiere, who has battled back to fitness from a serious knee injury, told the Scottish Daily Express.

"Everybody knows the Champions League is the competition everybody wants to play in and it would be good if I could help Celtic make an impact in the competition.

"It would also be great if we ended up playing Arsenal. That would be something special.

"If that was the case, then I'm hoping Arsene Wenger would let me play for Celtic. But I'm sure he would."

Re: Aliadiere for Paradise wat about Bellamy!!!!

my brother is an arsenal season ticket holder and he says he's the mutts nutts, very fast and very skillful.i think the board knew all along they weren't gonna get bellamy and have just made this bid to keep the fans quite because why has it taken so long for them to make a bid, were they hoping he'd sign for someone else in that time?

We'll still sign Bellamy on Friday just wait and see i'm assuming that it'll be Zurawski we're not getting and Hartson will be off to West Ham. Aliadiere is class act an will do a great job up here. This season: Sutton, Aliadiere, Bellamy, Beattie/Zurawski, depending on Zurawski signing and Beattie going out on loan. Next season: Robbie Keane, Bellamy, Zurawski, Beattie;)

I'm really chuffed about us getting this
young lad, worried about the hammer
throwers of the SPL though, should
either toughen him up, or kill him.
Wenger probably expects him back whole. :84:

i havent ever seen this guy play, but he wont endanger Zurawski' spot in the starting eleven..right? if Bellamy is gone, who are the two starting strikers ( Hartson and Zurawski?) and if he stays would it be Bellamy and Zurawski?

Plenty of options up front now, but hopefully
BBJ is off to Fulham. Sutty and Magic is the
most likely if we don't manage to get CB.
I hope the long ball game gets ditched... :50:

Aliadiere is a very good player, and I'd expect Zurawski and Jerome up front, with Sutton either behind them or in defense.

have a feeling your right and if bellamy does come he will be given a free role behind the front 2 also i think sutton will move into defence, hope it all gets done before the fulham game.best thing is the loan deal will cost us £500,000 instead of the 1.5 million we spent on camara loan deal
