his vision and ability to bring players into the game and create space. hard working, defends from the front, great positional awareness and timing of runs. incredibly hard to shake him off the ball, good finisher. all qualities that we could do with in the position and seems to be the type of player ronny would appreciate

im not saying he is better suited than ciftci, i honestly dont know. but ive seen more of vossen than ciftci and he has pedigree in europe so this is why he was my preference (as well as reservations over ciftci's attitude)

i wouldnt say im underwhelmed by ciftci, but i havent seen the player other people seem to see in him and ive openly stated that ill default to the judgement of the people who have seen more of him, since their better suited to comment

you say your not judging him on those figures but youve referenced them several times now. im not saying you should judge players based on your knowledge of hooper, what im saying is your shouldnt judge players just by what you see on paper because like you said yourself, not all players are in the same situation. vossens career shouldnt be defined by an unhappy last season at genk and a season at middlesborough adjusting to a new league

And I wasn't. I was asking why he was so far ahead as the better option in some peoples opinions. Sounds very similar to Ciftci, bit older and more expensive but with a European pedigree. Is he quick?

in a foot race hes not as quick as ciftci, hed probably be closer to hooper in terms of speed or maybe be a touch slower

but he's one of those players who's reading of the game and positional awareness can give him that extra yard

Jelle Vossen: Burnley complete deal for Genk striker

Championship side Burnley have finalised a deal to sign striker Jelle Vossen from Belgian club Genk for an undisclosed fee.
The Clarets revealed on Monday that the transfer was close to completion.
Belgium international Vossen, who scored nine goals in a loan spell at Middlesbrough last season, has signed a three-year contract.
Burnley lost last season's top scorer Danny Ings to Liverpool following their relegation from the Premier League.

Another rumour gone, least this one didn't last as long as finnbogasson

Great ambitious from Vossen, the English Championship.

That league is notorious for clubs going down from the Premier League and not getting out of the Championship again for years too, so it's not a given he'll get into the Premier League next season.
