The fee being spoken of is around £2.5m; would make sense if we pulled out and instead focused on ciftci at around £1m less.

Vossens goal record in belgium was impressive, but didnt emulate that form in the english championship. Not sure why, maybe he was being used differently.

Celtic have already turned their attention to Nadir Ciftci but there is no chance of a late bid for long-time target Jelle Vossen, who has agreed terms with Burnley. The English side said they were confident about striking a deal with the Belgian striker and it looks like the move is all but done and dusted. The fee is believed to be in the region of £3m.

We were never in for him. Look at the difference in responses when reporters ask Deila/Collins about Vossen and about Ciftci. Ciftci is who our staff want and must feel that he suits our style/requirement for oir team. I felt Vossen would fit the team and was proven in europe, something we were all crying out for but in my opinion Ciftci is technically better and has potential to be worked on. He has anger issues no doubt about it but with that comes passion that I beleive our fans will thrive on when he gets going in the hoops.

Disappointed that we never went for him, as it looks. Thought he would've been a great signing.

Won't be surprised. The amount of players we've been linked with the last few months by the papers is ridiculous. (Every year the same) Seems like every decent player who wants to leave, is transfer listed or contract runs out is linked with us.

For the price it would have been a no brainer.

£2m for Ciftci with a year left on his deal or Vossen for 500k more, easy decision.

    Oh well.

Looks like Ronny prefers Ciftci over this guy.

    Ah well.

Ciftci isn't the better player in the long run, though.

Vossen might have struggled in his first season outside of Belgium but that can be expected sometimes.

Fact is Vossen is miles more experienced and has an excellent record of producing in Europe which is exactly what we need. Not to mention he fits the system and would have been more likely to stay the course, at 26 year old.
For what is near enough the same price at £2m or so Ciftci deal isn't quite as good, for me at least.

I'd have liked to bring him in alongside Vossen.

For about £4m or so we'd have our strikeforce sorted for the next while. Griffiths, Vossen and Ciftci. Plenty of options. Punt Scep onloan somewhere.

Struggled in his last season in Belgium as well. He was about as useful as Tony Watt in the same league for a worse team that season.

He did struggle aye but still hit 12 goals in a side that finished 6th.

    Doesn't matter now anyway.
