The one just by the post was a screamer. Definitely worth him having a pop when he can.

If we do get him then it further boosts central midfield with a really strong deputy for Tierney. If we can get another really strong CB it'll be exceptional depth.

Cerny is easily their best player cutting in from the right but he has no real pace, can't see him getting much joy out of Schlupp the same way he might if Taylor was starting. Hoofing it long at the space behind Taylor has been one of their main tactics because of his obvious lack of height and pace. Buzzing to see him start.

I always said that he is extremely overrated but he is a pretty good player. Funny that he is a loanee and they wont ever afford him.

Even Schlupp was struggling for options in the middle loads today..

Far too many hiding in my opinion..

He made a few mistakes today and by about 60 minutes he was jogging. I can see now why at 32 he'd been moved to the middle at Palace.

Still think he's a must sign but if that was Taylor today this thread would be quite toasty...

I thought he was rotten tbh, only over shadowed by how poor Johnston was on the other side.

I'd still be signing him in the summer but I think he needs to be far better when we go to Ibrox.

Agree with WIIm, if that's Taylor with that performance this thread is a lot more active.

Terrible. He’s done fairly well so far but there’s been a few times where it’s obvious that he’s not actually a left back. Gets caught out of position too often.

Absolutely brutal today, only surpassed by Johnson and CCV.
Glad for Taylor it wasn’t him or this place would have melted by now.

    Agree.

Was a game not too long ago I joked he must have forgotten what his position was.

    Then today. Yeah.
Pace as well, suspect and seemed rather slow at times.

Reads a game fine and has a killer shot.
Other than that, not sure on him now

I like him, but hopefully this type of performance is like a jab to the throat for every single pessimistic * utterly slaughtering Greg Taylor at every single opportunity.

Would you exchange him in this game for Taylor? If you would, you've not been watching Taylor play in these games for the past five years. Schlupp was poor but he wasn't targeted like Taylor was. There's a reason for that.

Celtics defense problem is the inverted fullback on the left side whoever plays has to play as an inverted fullback meaning they come into midfield and then need to run out to the winger and if the winger holds the position and is good at running at a player they will cause problems.. its happend 3 times in a row against them and in Europe and the best laugh is Tierney got dropped from the arsenal team because he doesn't do that position well so * knows what happens after the summer

    In a heartbeat.

What did Schlupp do? Slowed down the game at every opportunity. Did he link with Jota/Maeda down the left? No.

Taylor - for all his faults, links up well and at least gets the ball out of our own area.

Cost us the first goal which was embarrassing with him being out jumped by Raskin. Generally poor overall.

I think he benefits massively from his name not being Greg Taylor. I've not really as of yet understood the clamour to sign him in the summer
