I think he's off now. Best of luck to him, can't wait to see him on the big stage in the coming years, just remember who helped get you there :86:

He hasn't ruled out a return so we can always cling onto that hope.

Perhaps we have him in mind to partner Boyata who he will be familiar with, should VVD leave nearer August. By then as well our European future will be a whole lot clearer.

See him becoming a mainstay for City in a couple of years. Good luck to him :50:

I would have dearly liked to get Denayer back for another season on loan and I think it would have done his development as a footballer no harm at all to spend another season here. I suppose we just have to be realistic and accept that a player with his potential wants to be playing week in, week out in a league that is of a higher standard than the Scottish Premiership. I'm glad he never led us down the garden path or became a badge kisser. He pretty much made it clear from the get go he only wanted to be here for one season. I can respect that.

Thanks for all your efforts, Jason. If you change your mind it would be great to have you back.

Just seen there that he wants some clarification over where he stands at City next season, was quoted on Belgian TV. Kompany and Mangala definitely ahead of him(even though Mangala seems ropey as *) and even Demichelis. I'd not be surprised if City went out and spent on another centre half as well.

He is destined to spend pre-season with them but if we could somehow get him back in time for the CL Play-Off (if we reach it) it would be terrific.

One of the classiest defenders we have had in my lifetime. Thanks for your efforts Jason. :50:

Just for fun: What if Man City offered us a straight up swap deal - Virgil van Dijk for Jason Denayer. Would you do it?

    Depends on the circumstances.

If VVD had said he was wanting to stay for another 3 year then I'd be torn. If however it was the case right now that we knew VVD was 80% sure of leaving(guess there btw) and Denayer would come in and take his place for another 3 year then it would be a no brainer.

Aye. We know Virgil will wants to go, plus, we know we will be getting an absolutely top class player.

Add on the fact that, with the money for Van Dijk, we will only spend about 3/4m of it anyway.

Love Denayer, he will be unbelievable some day.

Yes, cause Virgil wants away anyway :bbpd:

As for denayer, I've said it plenty, I respect what he's done and how he's gone about it here. What a player..
Don't think he'll be back but you just never know, young Belgian compatriot coming here would maybe sway another loan. Who knows, I bet Ronny has and will try again..

hopefully Man City buy a few central defenders this summer. that'll be a good indicator of their plays for Jason :bbpd:

City won't give him any assurances over a first team place I don't think, and that is what he has asked for.

I'm going to be incredibly optimistic and say we will see him in a Celtic shirt next season partnering Boyata.

I'd love him to stay, as I do believe big VVD will leave.

It may only be another loan, but he's a huge talent at such a young age, and him and big Boyata will do for me.

That would be the ideal scenario in my opinion, as I've already resigned myself to the fact that Van Dijk will be away this summer. Keep Van Dijk until after the qualifiers, where he can hopefully help us reach the CL group stages, then if he still wants away, if the money is right, then sell him, and bring in Denayer on loan. One thing is certain in my opinion, Man City will only consider letting Denayer come here next season if we are in the Champions League.
