Class act. Too good for Scottish football, should be in city's starting lineup next year. Can't see it happening unless they get in a new manager who rates him. Good luck Jason!

    I will miss him.

On a side note, he very much resembles some singer guy called "The Weeknd" who sang a song for the 50 Shades of Grey music soundtrack.

Maybe it is actually Denayer? :87:

What a player.. really gonna miss him:54:

Wish him all the best.. the lad has his head screwed on, great attitude. He will reach the top, no doubt about it.. reckon he would be a perfect fit for Barcelona in about 3/4 years time.

Hopefully City go and spend 25m on a centre back and let him come back to us.. :50:

In five or ten years we're going to look back at this season and think, "Remember when Jason Denayer played for us?"

    What a player.

Definitely, he's going to be up there as a top defender in the game.

Will he be better than Van Dijk?

What makes you think that though? I would say Van Dijk is better than him in every aspect except for his pace.

I think its probably because Denayer is only 19... and is already * hot.

Don't think he'll ever match Van Dijk physically though.

There is 3 years difference true but Denayer would have to improve a * of a lot to be at Virgil's ability now. Van Dijk is also 6ft 4 and very imposing which is something that Denayer is not imo

It'll be easier for Van Dijk to step up to playing against good players week in week out because of his height and strength. Denayer being a small centre-back it'll probably take him a while to learn and cope with the higher level of movement or strength or pace of good players and work them out although he learned rapidly with us, his first 2/3 games he looked very raw and got bullied a wee bit by getting too close and trying to challenge big forwards and being turned or swept aside with their strength then he absolutley dominated since by standing off them and letting them turn or take the ball down or flick it on before winning the ball or getting in quicker than them and intercepting the ball before them and makes it look pish easy as if he's playing against guys off the street.

do you think he would still look a good a player if he played the full season alongside mulgrew or ambrose. I think both VVD and denayer complement each other very well

I think Denayer will be, and probably already is, a better defender than him on the deck. But Virgil is just an absolute unit of a guy, 6'4 or whatever, strong and very quick for his size. Plus he's a better footballer than Denayer.

Van Dijk could play in midfield or as a striker and wouldn't look out of place.
