Does he not only have 1 year left on his contract? If so I think Celtic should try and buy him 4-5 million would maybe be enough. Man City never give youths a chance, they are more likely to spend 30 million on some one else than use a youth player so I think it's unlikely that denayer will ever be given a chance with them. I am also aware that it would be highly unlikely for Celtic to splash out 4 million on one player

We'd never get him for £4m.

    No we'd not.

We are not the only ones who have realised just how good he is. Man City will give him a new deal.

Go on their forum and see how much they like him now. He'l get a new contract. Many of them want him to stay but most think he'l get loaned out to a bottom/mid table premiership side. Or he may end up in a mid-table La Liga/Bundesliga side.

    We have not a chance.

Man City could easily persuade another premiership side to take him - even a European club.

We knew we never really had a chance when he first signed anyway, Man City have always rated him highly.

Whose the last man city player that came through their youth system? They all raved about sturridge, boyata, Michael Johnson and they all got released. I think there isn't much evidence to suggest denayer will get his chance at Man City. They have even signed young players like Sinclair and rodwell and they never got a chance. Man City will just buy some really expensive centre back and play him. If Denayer was English then he may have more of a chance breaking into the first team as a home grown player, but he's not. Don't get me wrong but, I'm a massive fan of denayer and do think he is good enough but previous evidence suggests he won't get a chance. I would like to see him break into the Man City team if he doesn't sign for another year with Celtic.

I think this time it is different.

Thing is even if he doesn't get a chance there, there will be dozens of clubs lining up to take him on. I can see them wanting to give him a shot at a better league.

City can't just buy though - they are constrained by the FFP rules, of which they have been punished before. They can't just go out and splurge money like before.

He'l be in their first team by 2017/2018.

I don't even think denayer would want to come to us permanently I think he would rather go to another Pl team or championship before us, plus we couldn't afford him.

The guy's destined for the top, no point being upset about not being on his level, the majority of football clubs worldwide are in the same boat.

He was great for us, and no doubt at all he enjoyed his time here, but time to wish him well for the rest of his career.

There are a ridiculous amount of positives to be taken from his time here. None moreso than the fact we MUST be in pole position for any of City's youth talent now.

They will play games, progress, experience the pressure of winning week in and week out and will even get European football.

It will take at least £8m to prise him from City probably, and Lawwell won't splash that kind of money on one player, as we all know too well.

The best we can hope for is another season long loan deal. Need to try soften them up a little bit with the promise of him playing more European football again next season.

I would agree with that. No way I can see us spending the kind of money we would need to to sign Denayer permenantely. Never mind his wages. But I would say there is some hope now that we might get him back for one more season on loan something I would gladly accept.
