Where did you get that? I thought he was without a contract when he was looking for a club in England.

Transfermarkt.com has him moving from JMG Academy in Belgium to Manchester City for €275,000.

It would maybe have been more of a compensation fee than a transfer fee though?

Oh ok, that would make sense. This academy will not be working for free of course. :50:

From what I've read (although information is limited), he looks like a great prospect who's impressed in both the domestic and European youth scene with Manchester City.

He's also playing for Belgium at youth level.

What interests me is that there was talk of him pushing for some first team appearances this coming season with City. Okay, he's never going to be a first team regular at this stage, but the fact he's chapping on the door tells me he could certainly do the business at SPFL level, and maybe even in the Champions League for us if need be.

On the other hand I have virtually no doubt that he won't be signing with us full-time. He's too much of a prospect that City will let him go, and from what I read I doubt he'd be too interested.

Is this a loan to buy deal we have in place?

I very much doubt it. It'll be a straight forward loan in my opinion.

No mention in the articles I've read about a buying option.

There is a press conference this afternoon which might shed more light on the deal.

Not a fan of loaning players that we have absolutely no chance of signing, and I would put him in this category. It just means that if he comes here, and nails down a first team spot, we are just going to have to try and replace him next summer.

Wonder why the manager agreed to it then after his comments about loaning other teams players and developing them.

I know a few City Fans, and according to them he's a good prospect, but there is no deal with Celtic to sign, no chance.

I don't believe he will feature regularly anyway, although guess the board's financial wizardry by a master-piece of selling VVD could maybe change that.

Going by the reviews posted it sounds like we have a very good addition to the defence. Sounds a bit like Virgil in his approach to the game and how he plays. He'll certainly be giving Efe a run for his money, maybe we won't see such relaxed play which leads or mistakes from him from now on, which can only be good for him and us.

Not seen anything official about this signing.

Also, if there's no option to buy, it's completely pointless imo.

Don't know if it's been answered, but was this guy signed before or after the deadline? Will Celtic be able to sign another player before the Maribor game?

So you would rather we didn't have a good EPL level prospect for a season because there's no chance of us signing him permanently?

A bit of a strange viewpoint, but fair enough.

Doesn't look like we've got the option to buy this guy at the end.. whats the * point in that?

We're just developing another clubs player, hopefully we still buy a CB
