For a 19 year old his game awareness is very impressive. Makes tackles when he needs to and jockeys opponents when he doesn't.

Good in the air, timing of his tackles is fantastic and for me I see no reason why in a couple years time he can't be a first choice centre half for City. He just needs experience, which he'd get in the Champions League with us (hopefully) next season.

I'd echo the above in that I've never seen a better centre half prospect in British football at 19. No reason why he can't be the next Kompany as he's been billed.

The kid is going to the top, improving constantly and I hope to * we get him for another year..

Strengths, pace, strong in the tackle, good on the ball and very composed, good reading of the game now..

Weaknesses, can be slightly lightweight and bullied by bigger strikers and sometimes suspect defensively in the air as he's not the tallest of centre backs..

He's built up a great partnership with van dijk and as you'll know, he's a danger for us in the box and cool as a cucumber finishing..

Someone said on here, that Virgil and denayer both playing for the same club next season , could happen. I honestly can see a scenario where denayer gets loaned back out to an epl side and I wouldn't be surprised as well, if they both did end up at the same club..

He's terrible, if he was still at Man City he would be taken out back and shot. There's nothing good about him, our leagues just really bad and that makes him look less worse than he his. We would be willing to take him off your hands as a favour to your club, Gie you £25 and £500 worth of DFS vouchers for him.

Sounds like he's come on alot seeing as he hadn't played a competitive professional game before joining you. He's very highly rated with us and the hope is to get him in the first team within the next few years. Personally I'd prefer him to go to a PL side on loan next season but I thought we'd do that with Rekik who is highly rated too but he has gone back to PSV this season for a second season long loan so they may decide to leave him with you if a deal can be agreed. I suppose time will tell.

I think we can make a good case for keeping him if you're not going to use him. I think he has improved a lot this year, so one more year here would be good for him. Our league may not be the best right now but he will get Champions League football and we have a manager who's great at developing players. It should be good for both clubs.

He can play for a Premiership side next season no bother.

Celtic can offer him the highest level though plus the fact he's already settled here and progressing well it would be astute of City to prefer him to stay here for another year.

If we get CL football next season, which we will, that will benefit him much more than playing against Burnley on a Monday night.

It's far better for him if he stays here.

Remember, it's not just who you play against that matter, it's who you play with as well. As well as coaches, facilities etc. Celtic trump most English teams with the latter.

I suppose the powers that be at city will look at which is more beneficial, playing another season in the SPL plus the few CL games or whether playing a full season in the PL. Then they may look at other leagues such as spain/germany. If they can get a club in those 2 countries who are also in the CL (Sevilla/Leverkusen/Monchengladback) they may push that. It will probably depend alot on the player himself. I only hope wherever he ends up he'll play regularly.

From what I have seen of both Rekik and Denayer, Jason is the far better prospect. Hands down.

If you want regular football, look at him this season, one of the payers with the most games when fit, and in turn one of our most consistent too. Given his age and his lack of experience, I'd have him down as a candidate for at leas YPotY if not an outside shot on PotY. He's been great. I think he's overshadowed VVD a bit, but perhaps just because of his age and his newness, overall the pair of them have been fantastic and have really grown into a formidable partnership.

I'm really keen to see us hold onto him for a good while. I think Deila's team in general is just coming into shape. If i was him i'd keep the squad much as it is over the summer, get the boys back early so they keep this form going into next season. Europe is where we'll see the difference. I'm not putting us down as CL contenders, but we're a different animal to the EL fodder we began the season as.

If we keep the defensive triangle of Gordon, Denayer and VVD I'd see us back giving the better teams in Europe a game of it.

Aye, not even really close. Rekik for me isnt very good, he'll need to improve a lot just to become as good as Van Dijk. Where as Denayer who is younger is almost as good as Van Dijk the now.

Rekik I imagine City will know will never make it there, so could be why he was loaned back to PSV. If someone bid £4million for Rekik, City would probably sell, where as if we bid that for Denayer we'd be laughed at.

In saying that though, I'd still take Rekik here in a partnership with Denayer:smiley-laughing002:

whether denayer stays for next season will depend a alot on whether pellegrini gets sacked or not.

if, as expected, he gets sacked then the new manager will probably want to looks at all his squad, meaning denayer will go back to city.

True id take him too, as hes still better than our average standard Majsotrovic, Rogne, McManus, O'Dea but he's not as good as what we've become accustomed too Van Dijk, Denayer and K.Wilson. More of a Mulgrew/Ambrose standard player but still young enough.

We'd be weaker at the back though but its acceptable for our level as we're really punching well above our weight with Denayer and Van Dijk the now, both are too good for us.

My pal works at a big garage in the city and said that Denayer came in a while ago to get his car fixed. He was obviously asking him if he was gonna stay next season but he said he would'nt.

That was about 6 weeks ago though so hopefully with a few medals in his cabinet and some great memories, combined with the prospect of playing more European football next season, he decides to spend one more season on board.

He's an ambitious player obviously and you couldn't hold it against him for wanting to have a crack in a tougher league next season.

Time will tell. I can see Ajax coming in for him.

He'd be playing in a tougher League with Celtic next season.

The toughest League of them all.
