It's very simple princess say we pay 2.5m for him then Man City have a buy back clause of 7.5m if they choose to activate it after x amount of years.

We get the player on a permanent deal and the chance of making good profit on him when he moves on.

Man City get first option on a player they seemingly rate very highly but will not get into their team at the minute.

And the player gets 2-3 years experience and first team football, a decent wage, a heap of medals, and eventually a big move to Citeh or someone else.

    Everyone wins

If I'm 19/20, believe in myself, have tasted European Football, have been good enough for the Squad of one of tthe top European nations and in June would be in the last year of my contract, I would have to think long and hard about committing the next few years battling the likes of Ross County, Motherwell, St Mirren. On the plus side if I did sign I would have guaranteed 1st Team football for the future.

Now where's my zimmer frame and Ovaltine?

Any of the forum with a sister/mother/auntie. Get them dolled up and sent round to Jason's house pronto! Maybe a relationship will make him want to extend his stay. No munters, don't want to risk scaring the lad off!

hahaha good man. Better prospects than him have failed to cut it by going to the wrong club at the wrong time, he could do worse than spending a few years here tbh

Or they could just loan him out until he's ready. They have no need to sell a future star for £2.5 million. :smiley-laughing002:

If you read some of the stuff on the Man City Web, this young lad is highly regarded and when he came here, their intention was that he would get 1st Team footie and European experience. He has done all of that. At the end if last Season he was up for the the Development Squad player of the year. They rate this Lad.

What I am hoping is that we go back to Man City/Chelsea and get another young lad on the basis of 'look how we've helped JD to improve.'

I'm not a plan of this policy to be honest. We are developing other teams players and it is very short term in terms of thinking. It's like bullseye heres what you could have won. I cant see him breaking into their first team, not that he doesnt have the potential to do so but because they will just buy someone like hummells rather than give the likes of Denayer a chance. Maybe signing him is out of the question but i would like to see us try even if we fail

Love the guy and will be sad to see him go. Can't expect it from everyone but would have been amazing if he developed a genuine love for the club while here and was willing to stay. Could have been the man to build a defence around if VVD was leaving but looks like this season might be a one season wonder of him and VVD unfortunately.

Absolute top class player, should be in Man City's team right now as outwith Kompany and Zabaleta I wouldn't take any other defender from them in a lucky bag.
