I've got no problems with that either tbh. Actually learned to enjoy bringing in cheap and selling for mega profit. And Ange Will get backed when replacing those players. I think we will get much, much stronger than what we all think is possible. We will become one * of a force under Ange and for that, we need to sell to get the project funded.

Ange Postecoglou has warned players will need to be moved if Celtic are "to make gains" in the transfer market.

The Hoops strengthened further this summer by bringing in the likes of Aaron Mooy, Sead Haksabanovic and Moritz Jenz after previously ensuring they made the loan stays of Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda permanent. In the months since, the Parkhead side have dominated the Premiership as they aim to win a second successive title. However, they endured a tough time in the Champions League as they finished at the bottom of their group table with just two points.

And now, as Celtic begin looking ahead to the January transfer window and getting their plans in place, Postecoglou has revealed the club will have make different moves in the market to help in their long-term bid to build a squad capable of competing in the Champions League again next season.

Speaking at the club's AGM, the manager said: "The business and football side is aligned. I'll make my vision clear.

"Most of it centres around finances and we need to be there every year. We need to keep growing, we need to be aggressive with our approach.

"We need to to be aggressive and agile in the transfer market and we will need to move players around to make gains.

We have to maximise our squad to get the greatest revenue for the club. I'm comfortable with that.

It will be unsettling for you guys. You'll have favourite players but we need to be wise."

Same, kinda no even bothered as I trust him to keep making us better and better..

Sell for big money and maybe start getting gems in for 5-7 mill instead of the 1.5-3/4 we've been doing at the minute for the most part..

    * great shout. I've thought this too in the past. Someone like Romeu is exactly what this Celtic team needs.

Except, if we sell a great player, and just replace him with similar quality, we haven't increased the number of CL-capable players in the squad. Finding a Jota/CCV isn't a given.

That's the worry and the key to this transfer strategy being successful will be good scouting and ballance. We can't just sell one of our best players if an offer comes in. If we don't sell and replace with better then we are effectively standing still. I don't think either O'Riley or Mooy offer us more than Rogic and I'm not convinced Kyogo or GG are better strikers than Edouard (as good as yes but better?)

CCV and Starfelt however are an improvement on Ajer and Duffy and Juranovic is an improvement on Kenny.

We need to make sure that's always the case otherwise we start each season back at square one and never advance. Ajax sold most of their starting 11 in the summer and are a poorer team for it.

Don't think Jota and CVV will not leave at least summer 24.

In general, we are in agreement, although Kyogo would never throw a hissy fit like Edouard had- prior to that fit, Edouard was CL level.

Honestly, we should tempt Ajer to return with CL football. As a DMF (his original position in Norway), he'd be a defensive upgrade. CCV is a better CB than him, but Starfelt IMO, is not. Abildgaard has his physique, but not the technical ability. McGregor and O'Riley are the other way around. Ajer is stuck in some hellhole, and we need a tenacious DMF, while Ange wants said DMF to be a ball-playing one.

We definitely should be cautious about selling the pillars of the team- Jota and CCV will be hard to replace. O'Riley has not truly replaced Rogić, as you've said.

O’Riley needs a chance in that position to develop. He has been asked to do a job for is in an area of the pitch where he is less effective. But at his age and or stage of development as an attacking mid, he is perhaps ahead of where Rogic was.

I was never overly enamoured with Edouard. Flattered to deceive for me. I was actually glad to see him go in the end. So languid and nonchalant.

But hopefully we can continue to improve and improve the squad.

I agree he is ahead of where Rogic was aged 21 (though I think Rogic raw skill is way ahead of O'Riley he took time to become the finished article) but for us to improve on our squad last year we needed him to be better than 29 year old Rogic not 21 year old Rogic. Truth is O'Riley will be gone to pastures new before he is at that level.

Kyogo works harder and has better game awareness but Edouard is a clinical finisher and that is what we needed in the UCL.

Ideally I'd have been looking for someone nearer the 26/27 age that we could build the team around for the next 4 or 5 years, not someone nearer the tail end of their career. Not easy to get somone that fulfil all those criteria, I know, so maybe it would need to be someone like that who would do as a stop gap for a couple of years. As long as they still have pace.

Positional intelligence and anticipation can replace pace. I'd definitely take a stop-gap player that is old, but still has quality.

He will also be looking to move some squad guys on.

I doubt Jenz, abilgaard moves will be made permanent unless they come to the fore in 2nd half season. Juranovic I expect to move on. McCarthy and idegauchi was well

Normally I'd agree but if we continue to play such a high line pace is essential in that role.

Maybe he means players that are not good enough moving on first before big names.

That was my thoughts too, I can see a couple of the biggers names going out, but in saying that it will no be many of the British passport holders due to the nationality restrictions in a squad. Unless that is we sign British players.

We all would mate but sometimes experience is invaluable. The guy is a warrior and he is a defensive mid through and through who has been playing top level football. He would have strolled our league and done a job for us in europe.
