Read through the entire conversation, it’d be extremely out of character for our board and Lee Congerton to pull it out the bag for us.

After the way he threw his toys out the pram when we rejected his last transfer - not sanctioning a new bid for Boyata is not an option, I’m sure you know that.

We need two new centre halves - one this window one this summer. Simples.

A decent CB should have been prioritised given its been a weak point for last couple years at least, we knew boyata was not going to re-sign and could very well go this month.

Like I said, far more faith in Congerton and Lawwell than they deserve.

    - Weah on loan to cover Griff till he gets well.

    - The boy from the Slovak league looks like he’ll be Dembeles replacement.

    - Burke to cover Arzani and Forrest if he rips his tights, we also have Mikey who can play at RW.

    - Chasing a RB, * we need to purchase one of those pronto.

I think they’ll likely convince Boyata to remain til the summer then he’ll be off for free. Otherwise we’ll need another CB, with the injuries we get I don’t see 3 being enough. On Boyata, do you think he’ll risk injury knowing he may risk a move in the summer? Half arsed tackles incoming.

Not sure about Scott Brown leaving for Oz. If so, we have McGregor, and * forbid Cham and Kouassi.
Actually for the 3 Central mid slots, we have those 3, Rogic and Christie - ample coverage?

I understand the targeted loans, they make sense considering our injuries but I’d much rather see tried and tested ST that bangs in goals, not what Rodgers calls Eddy, a link type player(*); another LW to push Sinclair and a RB.

I’d put money on this window purely being a stop gap til the summer when the board will, as usual, wait till we ‘qualify’ for the CL. Risky business!

Huns won’t win the league, at best they’ll be a half dozen points off, which is still too close in my opinion but I don’t see us doing enough in this window to revitalise and re-energise our team to the levels we all hope for.

I don't trust the board to sign the players we need, they have done this * for the last ten or so years. I find it baffling that people think we'll suddnely get it right this window.

    * if the board actually signed Stephen Fletcher when Strachan wanted we might be on 12 in a row and the huns would have died quicker.

They're a shower of useless *. It's enough to make you sick.

I think Burke and Weah on loan and Bayo on a perm is a great start to freshen up our attack.

To maybe go back to 3-5-2 we could perhaps doing with finding a Benkovic again and then a versatile Mulgrew type who can fit in at RB & CB if we need a change in formation.

I would have thought, perhaps naively that Weah and Eddie should know each other well enough to play up top together.

But then in Jan, when the * have we ever signed 5 players who could arguably be first team players?.

Because the ideal time to have brought in new players was before the trip to Dubai so the manager could work with them, especialy with defensive players to understand the system, and get them integrated into the side. That hasn't happened and there is no indication it will happen any time soon.

Playing games is the best way to be integrated. We’ve got a lot of home games coming up against lower opposition. Players will be fine.

No, training is the best way to get integrated, yes it can be done by playing but that is definitely not the best way.

You can train all you want, actual game time is the most important thing.

Might as well get rid of all the coaching staff then by that logic.

Possibly know each other but for the past 2.5 years edouard has been playing for other clubs so maybe not.
If these 3 attackers come in then I think we definitely have something to improve our attack.

Of course you need to train. But until you get game time together, especially when it’s 2 CB’s, that’s when you really start to bond partnerships and togetherness on the field.

And the longer it takes for us to get them in the less time they have. We bring them in after the training trip to Dubai, if it's players that have not been playing regularly with their current clubs they are not going to be match fit, so then it is likely going to be more weeks to get them to a level where they are going to be starting. Then they have to start creating that bond.
