I am expecting 2-3 high quality players who would walk straight into our team the way they are talking but we have a week now, with 2 massive games at home against Hibs and Hearts, so lets see what the week brings.

It's the same old speel we hear every window, yet people still hang on to their every word.

    * me off cause it' not like we don' have the money there to go out and sign players.

We have scouts in place who habe been looking at players long before this window opened so why is it taking so long?

I'm expecting us to sign Wilo Flood! Watch this space :57:

We need to off load as well, too many wasters pulling a wage and the money men will be factoring in
Before we buy ,will be lucky if we see more than one addition this window

The rest is just smoke and mirrors

Is it just me or does it feel like the worst transfer window for us in living memory?

Moussa options in the EPL are dwindling.

Brighton - he didnt fancy the move
Stoke - Looking at a German Striker
Palace - Looking at the boy from Fiorentina
    Newcastle - Boy from PSV

Bitton has to be on a decent wage we need to offload him he's not in the top 4 midfielders or cb's.

So would a few but seems to me Celtic are * off with something and trying to punt him to whoever will buy him.

Now if Celtic are doing this and they are wanting to use the money to improve the squad then fair enough but the problem is we have all this cash coming into the club and where is the surplus going is my question, why are we squirreling away £25m to 30 June 2017 and adding to that pot no doubt this season, is it for a rainy day when we dont make the CL group stages to make the accounts for that year look better, quite possibly, or is it to build the hotel, or pay the long term debt to the co-op when its due in 2019, thing is with celtic and most businesses you never know what they are upto with their figures most fans look and go

    Whats turnover
    Whats Expenditure
    Whats profit/loss

Aye thats great, when you acutally drill down the accounts and look at every note, every condensed transaction you can see where celtic are putting cash - celtic actually made a profit of almost £21m but put some into the "reserves" which is fine but the man on the street sees £6.9m and thinks brilliant.

    Any transfer business should not be dependant on Celtic selling Moussa Dembele, there is a stream of income that allows us to go out and buy players not £8m - £10m players but players of decent quality, every player doesnt need to be a guy with massive sell-on value, maybe 1 or 2 every 3 years or so like we have done;

    2010 - McGeady £10m
    2012 - Ki £5.5m
    2013 - Wanyama £12.5m, Hooper £5.5m, Wilson £2.5m = £20.5m
    2014 - Forster £10m
    2015 - VVD £13m

So it has been a few seasons since we got a big fee in but when we make the CL with the levels of money now we really dont need to do it but it helps but Celtic profit from player trading in the period 2010 - 2017 must be sitting around the £30m plus mark PROFIT!

If we hadnt punted VVD in 2015 we would have been looking at a £12m loss!

In my opinion with our record ever turnover, highest ever surplus in our history, it makes no difference to the PLC. I think and i’m confident that the invest minimum as possible to just get into the CL strategy will stay the course.

Now, Rodgers stated in public - on record that he wants “quality for Europe” this requires the Board allowing the funds to be pushed out. This is inevitable when we have a Celtic standard Manager that reflects the Club’s size. The PLC cannot behave to the contrary when we are sitting on piles of cash.

I mean, what do people expect, we have sold out CP with raising ST money etc Rodgers wanting quality.

    Theres no excuses.

If we don’t get at least 2 quality players recruited this window, that’s not projects or any of that, just quality, its unacceptable.

only a week to go and the tumbleweed blowing along outside the stadium and if we bring no one in i think rogers wont be here next season and maybe he has told the board that so whats the point giving him money then .

Because the PLC want more money, its legally obliged to pay out increasing salaries, bonuses and financial swaps and this is exactly what is happening on the Financial accounts hence why I stated I fully believe Rodgers will be given an gambling pot (enough to just get in the CL). People for some reason want that, champion our Board like they are * like figures, never question it, then run down to the ticket office and pay higher ST fee’s and merch at the tune of Lawwell’s narrative. It’s a cult, its that entrenched that people think it benefits our pockets and the quality on the Park. That’s how indoctrinated a lot of the supporters are.

The problem is, what if those quality players just aren't available? Do we just buy anyway just to be seen to be doing something? Or, do we keep the cash and spend it when the right quality of player, at the right price, can be had?

Not quite. The Willo flood window is probably the worst with last January a close second.
If nothing happens between now and the end of the window then this pushes into second place.

De Costa Lozamonai signing by Friday. Heard it here first. Transfer record broken. 40 goals last season.
    Heard Newcastle and Swansea interested.
