Not sure if I’m flattered or concerned about your ability to get riled by an old post on the internet repeatedly.

This window of all windows, there should be no doubt that we have funds to spend. If what Brendan & Paddy said in the summer is true and we tried for a permanent deal then that money should still theoretically be there (minus any loan fee paid) and we've just collected £7.5 million from the Van Dijk sale which was not budgeted for.

As always we should be seeking value for money but the 'poor us' stance is one that won't be stomached if we come out this window weaker than we entered it.

See that’s my point to Regi.

We had agreed a £8m deal with city and £800k deal with coetzee team.

Add to that a minimum of £7.5m for VVD that’s £16.3m

We have spent £1.3m of that on Compper and Morgan.

But have recouped something on the loan fee for Erik, £200k apparently.

So that’s £15.1m less Roberts loan fee whatever that was go for £1.1m for rounded figures.

That’s £14m that should be available also add that to the £25m in the bank cash and the fact we will turnover more this season than last then you should be looking to top that £14m up by another few million! Imagine we sell Dembele for £20m and we don’t make any signings! It will explode on the phone-ins, media and on here!

Fact of matter is “this oh a £4m player becomes a £10m player over 4 years with wages bonus etc!” Isn’t correct as wages and fees aren’t all paid in advance!

Well if that’s £10m over a full 4 year deal that’s £2.5m per season and Celtic don’t have a habit of letting a saleable asset run their contract down so it could be a £8m investment over 3 years either way we should be looking at 2 Ntcham/Sinclair type signings every summer and 1 every winter to enhance the squad!

CD on transfer news: "The squad has demonstrated over the last 18 months that it’s a strong squad. To improve upon that, it’s a certain quality of player we need."

CD: "I understand the fans are eager to here some news because ultimately they want the very best for the club and that’s how we feel. We share that same vision. Hopefully we can add to the squad between now and the end of the window."

It was a week ago :56:But aye, using the electric bill as an excuse not to invest in transfers still winds me up.

Ok don’t pay your bills at home. See how long that lasts.
And maybe get out a bit more if our club paying the bills before imaginary transfers winds you up :56:

Every club in the world has to pay an electric bill, from Barcelona to Newry City. It's not a reason to not invest heavily in transfers when you have 50k+ season tickets & Champions League money you absolute header :56::56:

"*, Pete, cancel the Ntcham transfer! Somebody left the upstairs light on all night!!"

Am sorry but some of the excuses for not investing in the squad are * up from Celtic fans it cracks me up! Do people actually think the full amount of transfer fee, wages, bonuses and everything else is all paid upfront???

Celtic should be signing Ntcham, Sinclair and Dembele quality players every window to enhance the squad they don’t all cost £4m though!

If we turned The Celtic Way lights aff at night we could go for a better CB than Jack Hendry.

Iv often wondered why all the lighting is left on at night... the cinema screen inside CP is also often left on showing footage of goals when nobody is in the stadium??! Anyone else noticed this?

If there's no one in the stadium, how do you know it's left on?!

Have you sneaked into Celtic Park to find this out? :56:

Aye, whenever you drive by it they're on. Apparently Alan Thompson was on a bender a few years back and lost the remote.

You can see the screens if you're standing behind the main stand.

If a football stadium is showing footage of old games and no one is around to see them, is it really showing footage of old games?

If we cannot afford transfer fees at a certain level because of additional costs (ink, paper, wages, etc.), then why are we shopping for players in that bracket? It is obviously unsustainable. No other club’s supporters factor in those things when predicting the club’s transfer budget. Either we can afford a few £4m players each window (and all the additional costs that come with that kind of fee) or not.

If we are reliant on Champions League revenue and player sales to pay for players who signed a couple of seasons ago, we are in trouble.

    * are getting transfer window cabin fever in here.

The money is there. Plain and simple. We will either see 2 or 3 good signings or we won't spend any of it and Desmond will continue rolling in it like Scrooge McDuck and this place will go into meltdown.

At this point I'm past moaning about it. Let's see what the next 9 days hold and then erupt in rage.

Trust me, if we sign no-one between now and then I'll be the first to bump my gums.
