No it isn’t mate that £25m is a cash reserve nothing to do with expenditure vs turnover

 

@littlekennie the turnover we bring in every season goes against the expenditure that’s what gives us a profit or loss, when peter said there wasn’t huge piles of a cash a few years ago he was telling a wee fib that pot has been building year on year and we now have a cash reserve of £25m.

As our turnover will substantially exceed our expenditure again we will add further to the pot this years accounts to reduce the actual profit thus reducing the corporation tax.

 

Think Finnbogason has flopped big style since though, as coincidentally has Melvin

Think flopped is a bit strong. Had a disappointing spell at Sociedad but didn’t play a lot of games. Since moving to Augsburg he has scored 21 goals in 41 games in a good league in the Bundesliga.

He is the third top goal scorer in the Bundesliga this season behind Lewandowski and Aubameyang!

I would take him here in a heartbeat.
He has lived in Scotland before as well, played for Griffs old youth team Hutchison Vale.

Haven't seen anyone suggest that.

I must admit- I’m getting twitchy.

Not necessarily for the rest of this season (although I do think we need some serious quality added to get past Zenit), But more importantly I think we should be laying the foundations for the Champions League qualifiers in the summer.

Get the players in now so that when the qualifiers come they’re hitting the ground running.

We all assumed at end of year that team was tired and winter break was coming at right time, however there is no doubt team needs an injection of energy and fresh faces if only to provide competition and cover for our ever increasing injury list. Certainly expect/hope to see couple of notable signings in this window. Time to flex our financial muscles...

Its a quick turnaround between the season end and the first qualifier. Id like to imagine that for once we could maybe go into a qualifier with a squad that is ready, than to tempt fate and wait and see if we make the CL group stage before making important signings.

So for me if I was buying these players I would go after

CF - Ulloa
