Nah. Going for Salah from Liverpool instead. Getting glowing reports from down south. Good understudy for Calmac maybe?:fear:

Same happened in summer though. We were going to sign a CB and never happened.

Just hope we’ve learnt our lesson or I fully expect a pumping off zenit.

We done lots of legwork with the Coetzee deal only for it to fall at the final hurdle during the medical. Seriously, nobody really does any business at this point in the window. They could condense it to a 14 day window, there’s a flurry of activity at the start then it goes slow...then bedlam in the final 48 hours.

Hardly an inspiring CB choice though was it. A 20 year old playing in a poor league with a track record of injuries (please don't mention VVD being young when we signed him). We had Champions league money & should have being going for an experienced CB, we didn't and it got shown in Europe.

I do hope your right bud, when was the last time we experienced that feeling in the window, Robbie keane? Would be great if we could get a 'marquee' signing in, would create a buzz around the stadium again which never seemed to leave us last season. I hear Ronaldo is unhappy with his contract in Madrid :56:

I'll refrain from whingeing until the window is closed. Give the club the benefit of doubt for a change.

New RB at the very least please.

Until Feb 1st, the level of * in this thread will grow exponentially. :giggle1:

I'm not expecting many players in. Rodgers said over a month ago that we're not splashing out for the Europa League.

We've got two new players signed already so that's a plus, one of them in a problem position and with experience.

I've no doubt there's a lot going on in the background so I hope something comes to fruition.

I’d be gutted, but certainly not surprised if there are no more signings.

I will reserve judgment until D-day, but i would be baffled if we didnt add some real quality to the starting 11.

We peaked as a team last season so we were always going to be on the down swing this season, but to drop this many points this early on isn’t acceptable in my opinion.

Add some quality, at the very least to challenge for positions. Theres no reason whatsoever we cant as we are probably in the best financial position we have been in many a year.

If we don't sign anyone I'm gonna go up to Celtic park and call Peter Lawwell a tight * as I kick him in the nuts.

Tbf with the amount eh games we play they're probably looking at going out Europa straight away so we don't have anything else on top

I am genuinely not expecting any proper signings. I dont believe we will strengthen with the europa cup in mind and the league is in the bag. Unless it is to replace someone we end up selling (and it will be a cheaper replacement), or maybe a short term loan deal, l think we are done.

Totally agree mate to have not won 4 league games in a row by 22 played is unacceptable for a team like celtic should be putting 8-10 winning game runs at least 2-3 times a season!

Financially wise Lawwell was renowned for saying their isn’t a stash of cash well £25m in reserve from last season proves there is its in the accounts for all to see, add to that a similar if not better income this season re turnover and expenditure could go down as we have shifted a few heavy earners off the wage bill.

We spent £13m last season on players and so far this season it’s £7.5m also with Brendan and paddy confirming Man City accepted a £8m offer then pep blocked it I hoped we still had that £8m added to some if not all of the VVD money to go and buy 3 quality players for CB, a no10 and a good winger even paddy on a perm we still might but there is absolutely nothing coming out except recycled stories for players and for me a 5 month loan player here and there won’t cut it!

It's nowhere near as congested in the 2nd half of the season and they should be fresh off a 3-week break too.

Going by previous windows we shouldn't expect much the manager said he likes to have a small squad probably more going out in loan than coming in

He also said that this is the most important window with the CL Qualifiers in mind and there would be a revolving door...

He may live to regret those statements..

Also those wanting a RB in just now, that won't happen unless Gamboa leaves the club, even then we have Lustig and Ralston..

Likewise I can't see £3-4m spent on a CB whilst we have Simunovic & Boyata..

Most likely a LW type player.. and maybe another if we punt Armstrong..

Players will be moved on first if there's to be movement..
