Maybe the fact that he has stated a number of times openly to the press in past windows, that business would be completed and nothing has materialized..

Not really a matter of finances, more a bloated squad. We are already too heavy in that department with Sviatchenko not getting game time and with the emergence of Ajer one of Boyata or Simunovic will get a loss less game time as well.

Bloated squad with unhappy players could lead to disharmony.

The ‘revolving door’ quote Rodgers was saying at the start of the Window conflict’s his quotes today. But I agree with what you’re saying. I just doesn’t make sense from him.

Wasn’t he injured or was he just kept out the squad?

    This ^

Sviatchenko and one of Simunovic or Boyata will probably be moved on before we invest heavily, hopefully in this window..

Think he does tbh, he can’t say nothing tho..

BR is the best we’ve had at dealing with the press.

Fair enough, I haven’t read them to be honest. Seems odd like.

That Copenhagen mob wa in for him according to sources and we refused to sell him due to the fee. Nothing wrong with wanting as much money as possible. If he’s no wanting to be here then I would punt him.

I honestly don’t care about the media or what anyone else says, but we do need to add quality..

Disagree with that mate, as I've said a number of times he has stated business would be completed e.g 1-2 in the next week, nothing materialises..

17 days left of the window,it’s a bit early for the hysteria. In the interests of a good squad balance people need to move out first also.

To be fair to Brendan he said something I think was last month I took a double meaning too

“Rangers spent more than us and we are a Champions League team”

No to me that’s a shift the pressure to them and also a dig at our board.

Clearly they believe their spend was in excess of £10m in the summer (which I don’t believe) and ours was around the £6.5m mark now for a team with revenue of £90m last season and probably this (infect depending on Europa league we might bust £93m) and I know the operating costs went up by 1/3 last season I would still expect to shell out a decent whack o quality this month! Over £13m spent last season I would expect better this season myself but for the balance of the squad a few need to move on permanently

Rodgers must know he’s talking pish with that statement.

We didn’t qualify for the CL because the whole team wasn’t good enough. Using VVD and Denayer not getting into the CL as a reason to defend his centre backs is ridiculous.

If we had both of them now we’d be * laughing.

Even if we had financially projected to make the UCL group stages and qualify for the last 32 of the Europa - which would be an optimistic projection - we can’t have projected to make £7.5 million from the VVD sale, therefore there should be significant funds to use for Brendan if he sees fit.

According to Lawwell every season we financially project to make the group stage of the Europa and the CL is a bonus so I wholeheartedly agree with you with a minimum of £7.5m coming from VVD and I would expect a healthy half year set of accounts added to that significant cash at bank then the manager should be backed fully.

Can you show me this? I have read the opposite. We budget for the Champions League from the AGM accounts. I'm surprised you're even typing this.
