£10 million for Armstrong would be great business. Doesn’t look interested anymore and has been poor for most of this season.

Will only be happy if we actually go and spend decent money in bringing in a quality replacement for him and strengthen other areas of the squad.

£7.5 million+ from the Van Dijk transfer, potentially £10 million from Armstrong and potentially £20 million+ for Dembele on top of the champions league money from the last two seasons. We have plenty of money and we should be aiming to bring in players this month so we are stronger for the Zenit tie and the champions league qualifiers in the summer.

That’s my thinking too. He’s been out of form and only signed a year extension. If we can get as much as £10m before it starts to drop and bring another Ntcham in I’d do that.

 

It doesn’t work like that. Clubs are reluctant to sell or inflate their prices. We found out the hard way last year, Brendan obviously had targets and through no fault of his own couldn’t get any in. That’s why I’m not bothered if that’s our business done, because I know it will be a busy summer.

 

BR has said it’s our most important window, it’s obvious we need some bolstering with class, we have the cash..

It will be a disgrace if that’s our business done.

Still nice and early in the window and we’ve made two signings, so far so good..

 

No more word on the Dundee defender?

I know it's early but I'd like the incoming signings done early to give them as much time as poss to settle in before zenit outgoings can take the or time because I believe the more money we get in clubs will hold ransom for it

So at the moment we're looking set to bring in about £40 million and spend nothing If that actually happened I'd just cry and pretend the Zenit game wasn't happening.
