January Transfer window

Ross Doohan back at Celtic after his Loan with Morton ended.

 

@Notorious when do we head off to Dubai, the gaffer said he wanted another 1 or 2 new players in the door in additon to Commper before we went, thinking it must be close and obviously that wont be happening now!

 

Everyone heads out over the next few days.

 

I genuinely fear for us against Zenit if Brendan doesn't make a consorted effort in this transfer window. Its pretty hard to criticise Brendan Rodgers for anything he has done at Celtic since he's came here. But he did have ample opportunity in the last transfer window to sort out the problem in the centre half positions and he didnt do it. He could see the problem in front of him and didnt do enough in the transfer window to sort it out

He keeps saying that he will only sign players if they will improve the squad. But you have to constantly improve the squad or the only way to go is downward. If you look at Martin O'Neil's Celtic team, he didnt significantly improve the squad since the first wave of signings he made in his first season. By the 2005 season when we lost the league at Motherwell, we were a pretty bang average side. Everyone knows looking back that the board should have pumped money into that team after Seville and looked to improve even further. But they didnt. O'Neil was also perhaps too loyal to some of his players and didnt want to replace them.

Brendan will coast it again this season in the league. But as we are miles ahead financially over any other Scottish team he has to make that dominance count and look to sign even better players than your Dembelles and Sinclairs. Not absolutely break the bank to get them, but push the boat out a little further each time. Look to be putting out bigger transfer fees and bigger wages. Cause if your not prepared to do that, you stagnate....then you deteriorate as a team...its inevitable.

Positive start to the widow.. but time to take it up a notch..

 

Aye hopefully see Goalkeeper coming in.

 

And another CB, LW and possibly RB if we punt Gamboa.

 

As long as we get a Goalkeeper in I'm over the moon.

 

I’m not too bothered if nobody comes in, but we’ve got a big summer ahead.

 

Least getting a Goalkeeper will shut people up.

Decent business so far but nothing to get too excited about. Hoping it’s going to be a busy January for lawwell.

 

A new decent number 1 would be a breath of fresh air for the team, sense of security if you will which is good for everyone's performance. I won't get my hopes up though

 

Pointless getting a new GK only to sit on the bench.

 

Do we expect much activity when the bhoys travel to Dubai?

 

Well Brendan said he wanted another 1 or 2 in addition to Compper before we went to Dubai to Ben on the flight but considering @Notorious said we go either tomorrow and Sunday then I don’t expect anything tbh
