January Transfer window

I hear Sven Mislintat, should just get him in and stick him in CB.

 

At this point we are basically the Scottish Arsenal. Nothing will change unless we get rid of the higher ups

Our squad is an absolute sad state of affairs and our signings under BR have been * for ages. If we don’t address the problems in the squad we will lose the 10, no doubt about that.

 

£6m these days doesn’t even guarantee good players though.

 

I felt that the board failed to support BR last summer in the way he expected and he visibly looked like he was majorly * off for some time afterwards before coming out with some 'toeing the line' bollocks as if all was well really.

This is when I feel he made his mind up to adopt a different approach to recruitment and to work within a guideline that the fans aren't aware of.

I fail to believe that BR hasn't looked at the difference in our play at the tail end of last season and this whole season and identified what's needed to produce a more consistent team performance and stop the all too obvious decline in vital areas.

So who's to blame for not dealing with this affirmatively ? is it PL himself ?....is it the board ?....is it the recruitment team?.....has BR resigned himself to going ?......it's all conjecture because, as fans, we're in the dark in real terms.....it's all guess work.

I find it almost impossible to believe that Brendan Rogers, who has given us so much, won't give his all for the club and it's pursuit of success.....doesn't mean I don't have questions about a few aspects of the team as a whole going forward.

Is it a * competition between BR and PL who knows but make no mistake.....

WE SHOULD BE MILES AHEAD IN ALL ASPECTS OF CLUB FOOTBALL IN SCOTLAND.....MILES.

 

I’m sure there are plenty of 6m players out there that better than Hendry and co that cost 1-2 million

How in the love of * are we actually not going to sign a central defender? The fact that it's only the 18th and Rodgers is already admitting defeat in being able to sign one is sickening.

 

Admitted defeat 3 weeks in advance during the summer window. Utterly bizarre, never seen that from any other club or manager before, ever.

I mean to me the brutal reality is that he and our scouting department are not really doing everything described in their job description if we aren't fighting to improve the squad til the very end of the window. It's not like we are an undesirable club for players coming in.. look at Benkovic for instance. Great young central defender here on loan loving his time. The fact that we are not able to properly market the club to other young or even mid-career central defenders is a straight failure from the club.

 

Negligence.

 

We should of had a new CB in on a permanent deal in the summer, never mind now. Mental.

 

Now we don’t spend the money we do have trying to lower ourselves to their level for an ostensibly competitive league. I understand it to a degree in business terms but the board, not for the first time, are being ridiculously and unnecessarily risky.

I still think we’ll win a treble this season and get ten in a row but let’s be honest, even accounting for the random nature of football, if we don’t then every single board member should be hung from the north stand roof.

 

Brendan sounds as if he's happy to stick with boyata and benkovic to get the treble treble over the line but we'll be stuck with ajer and simunovic at CH or IF WE ACTUALLY sign CH's they won't be bedded in for the qualifiers, why doesn't Brendan realise we'll be without a defence for the qualifiers, mind I read bitton is back training so there's our CH for the £30m games, * INCOMPETENCE, IT'S EMBARRASSING

 

We sat here 12 months to 18 months ago and predicted Celtic would shoot themselves in the foot! Lawwell better look those banners out the *

 

The one positive of no CB's this window is no Mckenna

 

Leicester getting trounced by Wolves at the moment, defending all over the place..
Recalling Benkovic must be an option.

 

Christ almighty why tha * are we not bringing in a cb if we get an offer for that Boyata * are we gonna say no thanks again
