"Celtic are shock forerunners to sign Reading midfielder Steve Sidwell when his contract runs out in the Summer." - News of the World.

That would be an absolutely quality signing. He is fantastic.

We need to replace Lennon. He is near the end of his career and he plays in CM. So we do needa a CM. We also need a striker and a defender.

yeah but this is the january transfer window and our midfield is our biggest asset in the side so untill the defence is dealed with then thats our priority.

Dont think we will get Beattie now as he scored today and i heard that Andy Jonhson got taken off injured.

Sidwell i would take in a second. He is a box to box player who is young and has heaps of potential. They say build when ur strong and altho midfield is a place we r pretty strong if a player like Sidwell becomes available then u take him.

Aye a smashing player. If it was a toss-up between Hartley & Brown and this guy it would be Sidwell every time.TBH tho i'd say nearly every club in the EPL will be chasing him

Sno replaces Lennon and at the moment it looks as though he will be a cracking player, and even if we did sign Sidwell he aint going to replace Lennon because he's more attacking than defending, dont get me wrong would love to see Sidwell in the hoops but it would be the same situation as last year, too many CM's.

Lenny is a great player, don't get me wrong, but you would rather have him in the side than Sidwell?

heard that james mccarthy the 16 year old prodigy is keen on snubbing chelsea and liverpool for his boyhood team celtic. i never knew he was a celtic supporter. also he was on trial at an unnamed english club and the chief scout said he believed he was one of the best kids in britain but after his trial he said he is one of the best kids in europe. i hope we can bag him! he makes his contraversial irish u-17 debut tonight.

Lookin for the latest on McCarthy, not a lot out there!

I realise there may be an element of talking up with his people and Accies, but this is exactly the type of transfer we should be hammering home every time: a scottish/Irish prospect/prodigy who is aware of the mystical status of Celtic FC. If we let this one slip we deserve a kick up the *..

Apparently is one of the best talents in Europe, and similar to Kenny Dalgliesh!!! Liverpool have offered a deal worth £750,000, Chelsea are to offer £1m, and Reading will match any offer on the table.

Surely he'd be worth a punt with the Stephen Pearson cash? Get it done Celts!

McCarthy and Sno ruling European midfields for the next decade and a half!!

    Hail, Hail :celt_2:

apparentally celtic offered a substantially less wage package than chelsea liverpool and reading. and we are not the favourites to sign him. i wish we could match the wage packages, he looks like a brillant investment.

Is that binding or is it the full cap that does that?
