Don't know why Kenny's suddenly back in the frame when Cummings's been banging them in for the reserves. Really doesn't say good things about our youth setup.

We need to try and create a route into the team for players like Kenny as otherwise he will move to an English club in the summer. But the setup is a mess - there's surely no way playing every week against Stirling Uni or Tranent is a sufficient challenge to prepare for a move to Celtics first team.

But it's a problem we need to solve if there is to be any point whatsoever in having a junior team/reserves set up

LOI and conference league is a higher level than what Cummings has been playing in. Get Cummings a new contract and loan him out

Think his loan was only till now. But Kenny has been scoring in Ireland and more importantly in European competition as well.

Would have him above Cummings in the pecking order at the moment.

Going to be hard for Celtic to keep moving forward but we need a transfer strategy in place and cant always wait till the last second (not saying we will this time). When you leave it late you end up overpaying or players you're not 100% sold on. We need clear targets within our budget to be indetified well in advance. Hopefully with likes of KT coming in it's a good sign.

See Liverpool apparently rejected 15mil offer for Ben Doak. Shows where football is now and how some who go on about Engels fee and how he should be instantly amazing are way off.

10mil buys you players who have maybe shown a bit but are far from the finished article. Your 2 to 3mil gets you absolute lucky dips now.

Too many still stuck with the mindset of the early 2000's and the fees from then. Hartson and Sutton would be well out of Celtic's reach these days. Your 6mil from then is 20mil or higher now.

I don't care if we are leaving ourselves short we should 100% be moving Palma and Taylor on asap this window for what money is on offer

If someone wants to pay a nominal fee to take Taylor, with KT in the door, it makes sense. Otherwise he is gone end of season now.

Palma certainly isn't gonna be a loss. I like him, but he's not doing anything this season at all for us, so no loss there.
Move him on and free up the space/wages to bring someone else in.

Thats Premier League though which is another level.

Still good signings to be had for sub 10m fees. Kuhn was 3m and has been our best player.

Slightly concerning that our biggest outlays from the summer havent really stamped down a starting place by now. Engels maybe is a starter now but him, Hatate and Bernardo fight it out over 2 spots. Im hopefull he will develop well, as for Celtic paying 11M pounds really needs to be adding genuine quality to the first team. Kuhn had a slowish start and then really took off. Hopefully will be the same with Engels.

Trusty looked to have been developing a decent partnership with CCV only to find himself behind Scales again which is really strange and a bit worrying.

Idah - not certain what the intention on buying him was. Rodgers would have a good look at him when on loan and the club decided to pay 9m for him. Thats a lot to pay for a guy thats been a bench option. Was he signed as a back up? Is it succession planning? The idea that Kyogo is probably off a year or 18months and Idah will be ready to come in? If he was bought to fight it out for the starting jersey its strange he hasnt got more starts given Kyogos form hasnt been great and the system doesnt play to his strengths.

I think Idah is a decent player for his age. Raw, but has potential.

The price tag is really the issue here. It was clear we wanted him, we left it late and didn’t appear to have progressed with any other options, so ended up paying well over the odds for him.

Agree, the talent is there, but all players need to be constantly playing week in and week out so they get to be on the same wavelength of their teammates.
    Idahs time will come.

Come on man. He's not some young 19 year old striker, he's 24 in a week's time for * sake.

Realistically, we aren’t going to make the massive changes we all hope. I think we may see 4/5 move on and the same come in.

Welsh, Bernabei, Palma, Taylor and I feel like Kyogo may explore a move to the MLS or of the like. What I would like to see come in is

    LB- Tierney- Free
    CM- Diawara- £7.5m
    RW- Tyrys Dolan- Free
    LW- Bazoumana Toure- £7m
    ST- Kvistgaarden- £9m

It was reported Diawara will be available for considerably less than £7.5m. But unfortunately Toure is likely to be going to Brighton for more than £10m.

For me I would like to see

    - LB Tierney
    - LW Someone established, I would like us to sign Jens Peter Hauge as Bodo/ Glimt have apparently annoyed Frankfurt by trying to haggle an agreed €5.5m price down. I think he would fit our team well.
    - RW Marius Broholm, looks like a Kuhn clone type winger.
    - CM Adem Zorgane or someone capable of receiving and playing progressive passes and carrying the ball in a press resistant way. Pavel Sulc would be a more advanced but cracking signing. Drop Engels in beside McGregor with Sulc in-front of them.
    - ST Cucho Hernandez or I do like the look of Kvistgaarden.

A couple of players I would look to sign on bosmans for squad depth are Kevin Diks for centre back and right back cover and possibly Daam Foulon from the team Welsh is going to on loan as left back cover for Tierney. I was going to say Liberto Cacace but he has another year on his deal at Empoli. Both are very much box to box traditional style left backs with good physical profiles.

As much as we really should be levelling up in this window given the likelihood of us qualifying for the knock-out round of the CL, we probably won’t due to the age old ‘January is a very difficult window to do business’ excuse.

At the very least we need to address 3x positions and I’m sure that’ll include a loan (preferably long term loan or option to buy)

    LB
    CM
    Winger

Tierney coming in at LB and will give us LCB cover too. Taylor and Bernabei away pays for his contract. Valle will play back up role to Tierney until summer.

I’d like to see us reignite our interest in Diawara although I haven’t seen much of him. He does look like a powerhouse with a good pedigree and would bring much needed dynamism to our midfield.

Balikwisha from Antwerp is probably the most interesting rumour for a new winger. His goal stats are decent for a winger - can play both flanks and also through the middle.

If we bring someone like Balikwisha in, I’d like to see Maeda get a chance through the middle.

Balikwisha is injured again mate. Missed most of the season, came back, made 2 sub appearances and had another muscle injury. Not sure how serious this one is but definitely a bit of a red flag.

I did like the look of him in the summer tho and he was 1 I thought we'd go back in for this month if he was fit
