If we bring in cover at left back, are we weaker though? Kyogo has been inconsistent all season and his finishing has been pish in all honesty. So by moving Idah there and bringing in a quality winger in Jota, you could argue we would be stronger.

Man City have signed Marmoush to give them an option..

For me Idah is an old school CF, we definitely need another quality addition to help him 100%... it wouldn't actually be fair on him.

 

Diaz and Nunez.

City have had haaland and another, before that there was always someone that could slot in for aguero or anyone.

Newcastle have Isak and Wilson (although Isak keeping Wilson well out just now wasn't the same last year)

Villa had Watkins and Duran

Fulham have Jimenez and Munoz

Barca have Lewandowski and Ferran Torres

Bayern have Kane and Tel (or Muller or a rotation of winger/ striker types)

List goes on...

Not a chance, would aren't we be stronger...

Idah shouldn't be relied on and expected to lead the line by himself..

 

The big question is who's in Edinburgh for a meeting with the hearts

 

We have Idah, Kenny and Maeda who can play striker. We are targeting another striker. Looking doubtful we will get him this window. But we are not planning on not getting a replacement for Kyogo.

Very poor window for incoming players, outgoings went well enough financially but overall we are much weaker at end of window than at start.
Brendan will not be a happy man.

But what about Jota and KT I hear you say....outstanding acquisitions both.
Recruitment didn't exactly have to scout either of them.
Money men had to work harder but essentially both were put on a plate for us due to good feeling they have for the club.

Outside of that we identified several targets at home and abroad and didn't get any of them, again.
Couldn't even talk an average LB into a new deal then let his cover go without a replacement.
Sold best striker without a replacement being tied up - despite several months notice.
Last second loaner - maybe.

We also seem to be incredibly slow doing any business buying, even done deals take weeks to conclude - that's why I have zero confidence we'll get anything major done on last day.

The Kvistgaarden saga is embarrassing - they set a price we wouldn't pay but it took us a month to realise that and so we'll continue to 'monitor' instead,....
yes monitoring his price going up over 3 windows from £7M to £10 to £13M - will be £15M plus by the summer.

Diaz is a winger though eh. Villa have just sold Duran. Wilson isn’t in the same stratosphere as Isak. It’s someone like Wilson I think that would be fine. Someone who is happy to sit on the bench. I’ve already said a striker would be good for cover. I just don’t see us bringing in one for big money when we have just spent big money on Idah 6 months ago.
