I'd keep him til his contract runs out.

But as you say, why wouldn't you take a shot at the play offs?

Say he scores twice in the two legs against a big team(who is it we are likely to play, Bayern or Juve?)

Suddenly instead of it being Rennes he gets linked with, he may start getting links with better clubs.

Was only summer time he was linked to Man City as their backup and HAD that materialised he'd have seen a lot of game time just now!

No saying he gets that level of club, not as a starter, but there is better than Rennes for him to play at if he wanted it.

It was the Gent striker. Nigerian.

But it was a suggestion on KDS I think which grew a few legs. Don't think it was anything formal

We are at the stage now if we are gonna sell Kyogo we need to get it done quickly otherwise will drag on and * forbid we actually replace him before he goes.

We are then back to the usual January is a hard month blah blah blah. We then have Maeda, Yang, Idag, Kuhn & Jonny Kenny as our attacking options for rest of the season.

I do think the fact he is potentially leaving means we have a plan

Can't wait for that "hard month to get deals" as we wave goodbye to Kyogo for barely £10m

Bargain price Rennes will get him for and we aren't exactly playing hard ball about it either.

Departures from 1st July (inc addon)

    Matt £32m
    Oh £4m
    Lawal £3m
    Mikey J £3m
    Iwata £1m
    Bernabei £5m
    Hacksaw £1.5m
    Vata £250k
    Kelly £300k
    Yuki £200k
    Siegriest £200k

Apparently the addons are achievable and am sure listen in the accounts. That's just over £50m in sales, now say kyogo does go and that's you £60m in sales.

    Incoming

    Engles £11m
    Idah £9.5m
    Sinisalo £1m
    Bernardo £3m
    Trusty £6m
    McCowan £1m

£31.5m paid out could easily spend £20m this window and still be in profit!!! Even if you remove the addon

Exactly can't say hard month and nobody wants to lose players as we've just lost Kyogo.

I think because of squad rules you only really have chance of 3 new players coming in, and one would have to be home grown. Any of those players coming in and told they won't play European football despite us still being in Europe wouldn't be happy with it.

If the Kyogo rumours are true it will be a striker at a minimum.

    I'd imagine it's
    Palma
    Kyogo
    Welsh
    out of the squad.

    Winger (loan)

That’s before you also consider the likelihood Palma moves on too.

In addition, if we see out the league and merchandise holds up with last year then we are looking at revenue being up north of £135m, so £11m up on last year minimum. We also had a small net transfer spend last year, this year we have a surplus.

Profit on disposal of players was £6.6m, this year you are looking at something in the region of £30m.

Basically if they are selling Kyogo because he wants to go, then fine but there is plenty to invest in the playing squad whether that’s Kvistgaarden or another.

It would be a risk for him though, as he's not scored any against big teams this season (although he scored past Lazio and Atletico last season). This is a chance for him to play in a top 5 league.

Kyogo as the only main out player would be okay, if the ins are kvistgarden, Tierney and Jota.

If we can leave this window with:

    GK - Kasper, sinasalo
    RB - AJ, Ralston
CB - CCC, Trusty, Scales, (whoever the * is left next)
    LB - Tierney, Taylor
CM - McGregor, Hatate, Engels, Bernardo, McCowan
    RW - Kuhn, Forrest
    ST - idah, Kvistgarden, Kenny
    LW - Maeda, Jota

Where kvistgarden and Kenny can go wide right and Maeda can come central for cover.
Then I say we are very strong still.

Address the CB and backup LB options in summer.
Then address the CM if there is any outgoings (likely Hatatae and ideally replaced with Miller).

For as critical as I am of the board and transfers I can't believe we would have allowed Kyogo to go without a replacement 99% done.

Very minimum required now is a LB, winger and striker. Anything less is complete mismanagement especially now we are in next stages of CL

Hopefully Kvistgaarden and Orjasaeter are a couple of the others..

I’d love a similar experience to when we signed Kyogo … just waking up that morning and seeing we had signed him with zero reporting or stories linking us to him :56:

Just seen a post about private Jet leaving Glasgow around 3 heading to Rennes. Hopefully when the wee man gets off it Jota gets on it. On the same note we linked with anyone from Germany? Another private Jet landing in Glasgow from Berlin the night :43::giggle1:
