    I would love to see Janko at Celtic Park, but I wouldn't be too excited before I'm more sure there's something about this rumour.

    Nope, i'd like to think we're aiming higher than that but unfortunately that is the standard we seem to be lowering to.

    Saying that Janko looks no a bad player, and yes i'd love to get him in if it meant no more JVOH.

    Thing is though, with all they failed bids and being constantly told we have virtually no chance of signing anyone of note because of our situation, there's no way we'd get Janko if there are others involved. That and Lawwell will prob drag it out to save every penny he can and we'll lose him. :rolleyes:

    Fletcher isn't a bad player and I wouldn't say no to him and let's be honest Celtic are never going to pay 8 million for a player no matter what his calibre.

    How much of the speculation is paper talk made up to create news, rather than reporting on what actually is happening? I don't blame anyone for feeling a bit fed up by the rumours as for years we've heard in the press about all these great players that we are to sign and we almost always never get them. I'll get excited when I see these guys signed up, not before.

    based on some vids. some of those strikes aren't getting saved against 85% of goalkeepers in an league. Hope he comes and makes good. Him Skippy and Sammy give 3 great options. Sheridan and Hutchinson could be impact subs.

    He seems to be able to score against tightly gathered defenses which is what we're lacking right now but it is still only the austrian bundelsiga so who knows

    I have to admit he looks the real deal and if he comes brilliant . I am also a lil sad that our strikers get such a hard time as its a lot of the time unwaranted and a lil harsh . I know that jvoh has been injury prone recently but that doesnt erase what he HAS contributed to the cause at certain times although i accept not as often as we would have hoped for but i believe he always gives his all for the team . Sammy started the season on fire and then got injured and has struggled at times since he returned but showed at the start of the season what he CAN do with a clear run injury free and yes his first touch isnt always the best but he is still young and CAN improve . Scot mcdonald has a poor first touch but works hard and gets a few goals and all three guys work for the team and with a few more goals we wouldnt be debating this probably . At the end of the day if we win the league or not its down to the whole tem not just the strikers and id just like people to get of their backs and lets stop being hypercritical and leave that to the media

    it'll drag on all summer and he'll end up siging for shaktar or somet like that lol

    then we'll get the "we did the best we could but he just wouldn't sign"

    with it later being revealed that celtic had offered £500,000 to sign him, plus installments of £100,000 a year and wages of £2,000 a week.

    I'm not building my hopes up for a decent transfer window..

    he signed a new contract with them in jan, so i doubt we'll get him and plus 54 in 67 games means alot of clubs will want him, clubs that play in better leagues and will pay more for him, the only lure for him would be european footy
    Would love love love it to happen, but it clearly wont

    He started the 2008–09 season in great fashion, scoring 5 goals in the first 2 games. On November 16, Janko became the all-time club leader for goals scored in one season for Salzburg. His 25 goals in less than half a season, surpassed previous record-holder Oliver Bierhoff, who scored 23 during the 1990-91 season. Janko continued his scoring streak with a four goal performance against league rival Altach. On December 6, 2008, he surpassed Toni Polster as the all-time half-season scoring champion by registering 30 goals in 20 matches. He has scored 5 hat tricks in the league this season, including a four-goal performance after coming on as a second-half substitute against SCR Altach (Salzburg won the game 4-3 due to his goals). In total he scored an impressive 39 goals in only 34 games as RB Salzburg won the league.
