I would think if we are seriously pursuing VOH then Petrov will have to be out the door.

"Celtic are a fantastic club with great supporters and the club has a lot of history.

For him to say that He SHOULD sign straight away ffs

Supposelty there is a clause in his contract saying that if he joins ANY club he gets £1million for a signing on-fee ffs if I was boss I would tell him to get stuffed!!!!!! Then look at other options just as his Father says coz he'll not get any better offers than us+There isn't many clubs going straight into the CL group-stage this season, fair enough he could stay with PSV and do well but I think he wants to move coz of MONEY as usual!!!!! in my opinion

    Hesselink...Can't afford him either

How muchmore are we to take. I can't believe we are going to miss out on another player because we can't pay the wages. Gravesan, Hesselink, Hasselbank (thank * we didn't get him but still), they let us get all worked up and then nothing. They must have an idea wht these guys are making at their current clubs, so why do they think they will fit into our pay structure. I'm a little sick of Stachan's smart arsed remarks and excuses as well. It's not good enough to say "we are trying to sign guys, but it's hard." The Celtic boss is a hard job, if you can't handle it GTF!

No seriously lol....i hate celtic wen it comes to this, why dont we just cough up the money we badly need a striker. Yes is scoring record is poor...but remember this is scotland u dont have to be henry. We need a striker and personally i think Voh would fit the bill perfectly in scotland, so cough up celtic, pleeeaaasse!

Spot-on m8 or why would he say he would love to join a club like Celtic coz personaly i don't think the board are stupid they would have asked PSV what wage he was on or there about's so what-ever the board offered him probably was a wee bit less than he wanted unless this clause in his contract is true by saying if any club buy JOVH from PSV they have to pay him £1million signing on fee so that would mean £5million to PSV then £1m to him then his wages,He could be a greddy so and so but remember his dad is his agent:38: :38: so if his daddy didn't like what was on offer for his son he could say no son but JOVH might want a move i suppose we have to wait and seeeeeeee:fear: :fear: :fear:

    * terrible only Celtic can have players like these eh????

Aye but only Celtic have Peter Lawwell, The Board, and a majority shareholder D.D. :87:

It's Peter Lawell :86: I thought I would say as it undermines the post.

There is a £1m clause in his contract that is the problem as Celtic would have to pay this signing-on clause on top of transfer fee and wages. He will not fly into Glasgow to agree personal terms until this situation is ironed out.

I wonder if this clause put Porto off as they were looking at him as the replacement for McCarthy?

I believe that it is this 1 million clause that is exactly what put Porto off. VOH is an excellent striker and I think he is the ideal replacement for Hartson and at 27 should be his peak over the next 3-5 years. To be fair to celtic I don't see why they should have to pay an extra million signing bonus to get VOH. He is good but not that good. If we have 5 million to buy a striker and VOH doesn't drop his demand I would imagine we will just go elsewhere and buy the Serbian lad or someone else. I would love to see VOH in hoops but * him if he is going to hold us to ransom. Plus when the board is making it very clear there is a set tight pay structure that all players have to fit in then if they suddenly turn around and cough up this extra cash that can easily cause dissention with other players as their greddy agents smell blood and start bleating for more cash.

What undermines the post? Peter Lawwell, undermines the progress of Celtic fitba wise, I have no doubt about that.
Celtic will struggle, and GS will I am afraid cave in further, as the evidence of that has been shown in preseason friendlies and now four league games with the loss of five points already. :87:

I understand it that Celtic were made aware of this clause early doors and were told by PSV this was the reason they dropped their asking price for the player. I do not think the issue is this reported £1m, i think it's a case of the guy trying to get as much as he can salary wise. I do not think even Celtic would be naive enough to have taken the deal this far without this £1m sign-on clause being clarified and sorted out to the contentment of both player and club.

Hate to say it but I told you so. There's no way this guy was coming to Celtic for anything other than money. But why would we pay 30k a week for him when we sacked Hartson for being on those wages?

What really * me off is that they must have known what he wanted before they made the bid so what was the f@cking point in offering PSV anything if they knew they couldn't match his wage demands?

It'll be the same with Graveson, mark my words.

Im not so sure that Hartson was 'sacked' he did express a wish to be nearer his children. Also John is coming to the end of his career. I would rather pay £30 grand to an up and coming striker out to prove himself abroad than an older player who at the end of the day would only have been playing out the season before retiring. Just my thoughts.

surely Peter Lawell knew about this 1mil clause? and surely his agent(his da) told celtic that they will need an extra million to buy him

but I think it will be sorted out eventually buy paying him his cash over time or as a bonus

I hate when players come out saying it would great to play for such a big club, a club with history, fans blah blah blah, then get * off when they get £5000 a week less than they think they are worth. Like that big * Ferdinand who wasnt happy with £100,000 a week wanted £120,000. you get the fans backs up, we'd be happy with £30,000 a year ffs
