Why does this keep getting bumped.

He plays for the b team. Many clubs in England and around Europe have an experience older head playing in their B team/u23s.

Younger guys are probably gaining far more experience training and playing with him on a daily basis than by being coached by McManus and odea

 

Links today saying we turned down a loan move due to wage disparity........its got to be a early april fool ffs.

Celtic have rejected an offer from Greek side Volos FC for James McCarthy.

The Super League outfit had wanted to take the midfielder on loan until the end of the season.

The Scottish Premiership leaders wanted a larger percentage of the midfielder’s wage covered so knocked back the approach.

McCarthy hasn’t featured for Celtic since October 2022.

 

That's gotta be a wind up. If anyone offered to pay 5% of his wages, I'd be packing his bags for him.

 

Dunno about Volos but it's certainly ourloss..

 

This says everything about our board who cares what percentage is paid. don’t care if some teams pays 10% or 15% get him out the door instead of taking up a place in the squad and doing * all.

this should be enough to tell everyone how incompetent our board are would rather keep a guy earning all his wage who’s nowhere near it we need to do something serious about who badly run we’re

 

He's apparently loved by everyone in the dressing room. If we're going to be paying all or near all of his wages regardless we might as well keep someone like that around.

Volvos are too reliable for McCarthy, never fit in.

 

Saving 0.1% of his wage is still a saving.

He needs gone at any cost tbh.

 

He’s never going to get another game for us, so why haggle?

 

James McCarthy didn't get the memo.

 

The only way this would make any kind of sense is if we have an insurance policy that will pay most of his wages if he's injured. The club might just be gambling that he does himself an injury soon.

When old baldy Aussy Mooy came in, I thought he was soooo slow and awful at first, until he proved me wrong, and I admitted it in the 'things you got wrong thread'

McCarthy is slow and not bald..but couldn't he do a similar job to Mooy? There was a good player there once and he's hardly played, and we're paying him..so why not try him as we'll probably need him when the injuries pile up lol.
