Going to be a great player. Great alternative to Brown on the right of midfield, hope he gets a start in the cups and some home games, not so sure about him starting away games.

Has a rocket of a shot with both feet as well.

That's one of the things that's pleasing about him, is that he can use his weaker foot when needed. Too many pros are over reliant on their stronger foot.

Aye not as cultured as his right foot but he can stick his laces through the ball, always a good thing to see.

I disagree with that, I have at no point saw him unplayable, he is a really good dribbler but think he needs to add more to his game to be unplayable, he basically has not skill to beat and confuse men except maybe a drop of the shoulders. i think if he gets more skill and his end product improves then he will be a quality player, better than McGeady in my opinion.

He is only young so there is plenty of time for him to improve :icon_mrgreen:

That's the best thing about him, he goes by players by feinting and knocking it past them. Over elaboration is one of McGeady's weaknesses.

The best player in world football does the exact same thing.

Forrest has got all the tools, he's quick, direct and can score goals, if he can remain injury free i think he will have a belter of a season :50:

The best player also has the skill and the ability to twist and turn passed players and has some flicks to help him when in trouble, i think forrest needs to get some tricks incase he is playing against a strong full back where he is outmuscled.

looked lively against cardiff, and was good last season. hopefully if he stays injury free he will be an important player this season.

Think this season will make or break Forrest as a Celtic player.Last season when he came back after injury he put in some really poor performances. If he can recapture the form he showed when he first broke into the team, then we will have a really good player. We have had a lot of young players throughout the years who have brokeninto the first team then faded away into obscurity I just hope Jamesy doesnt fall into that category.

Basically want to know peoples opinion on james forrest as i think he is well short of the finished article i think he should go on loan as i think he is well short of the standard that is required to be in the team. Would much rather templeton from hearts as he has given a hinkel when he was here and shittiker a hard time everytime i seen him against the oldfirm Just wanted other veiw points as i spoke to people that keep telling me forrest is great but i just think he started well then fell away think he could do with a season playing week in week out to get consistancy

I rate him highly. Reminds me a little of Damian Duff. An out and out winger with a good shot. Had a good season last year and has a good temperament. Pretty sure he will be an important part of the squad this year. Not a chance of him going out on loan.

I rate him much more than a lot of others in the squad. His problem though is that Commons and Brown will probably be cemented in the wide areas, though he will be an able back up.

i think james forrest has much to offer the club as he is now. But you are right and he is far from his finished product, will be a cracking player! Hope he sticks around for a long time!

Last year was his first full season and I was very impressed by him, I definitley wouldn't be sending him out on loan as I think he'll have a big part to play for us this season.

When he first came on the seen pre-season last year i had very high hopes for him, but in all honesty from what i seen from him last season he's not ready yet. He'll be a good squad player this season but as for now i don't think he is ready to be a first team starter.

    He needs time imo.
