Right that's fair enough, but a 4 year contract for a player who still picks up wee injuries here and there and hasn't kicked on in quite some time seems a bit silly.

Boyd is spot on 5 years is far too long when he'll probably play less then 100 games in those 5 years, give him 2/3 at most and evaluate from there

We cant afford to give someone, who turns up when he feels like it, a 4 year deal considering hes been injured half his career :smiley-laughing002:. Its insane.

I like him as I said but I think offering him another 4 years is nuts. 2 years and evaluate how hes doing during that period and take it from there.

4 years seems a bit long tbh would prefer a 2 year deal with an option of a year and if he shows consistency then improve it, although Pete aint likely to have offered a big basic right enough :smiley-laughing002:

    2012-13- 15 League appearances
    2013-14- 16
    2014-15- 19

Is that worthy of a 5 year deal?

Nah probably the same terms or a slight improvement on his basic salary, with bonuses depending on how he gets on.

I some times get the feeling he thinks hes got it easy here, because he came through the youth ranks and that. He'll get an easier ride off the fans compared to a foreign player. Dunno why he just gives me that impression.

What a statement. 2 goals and one assist in near enough 30 games is so hard to replace, right enough.

I'd put good money on Elyonoussi offering alot more to us than Forrest.

The purpose of the 4 years is security for us. If he plays well, we have him long term if other teams end up wanting him. If he turns to *, we have the security of being able to get something for him if we want to sell, rather than lose him for nothing after 2 years. He's also a Celtic boy and has been with us since his youth, so he's earned a 4 year deal regardless of his injury history.

11 goals and 8 assists in the past 3 seasons, 5 years? :97: Give him 2 or 3.

Don't think it matters how long his contract is. He'll lijely be sold in about a year or 2 anyway. A slightly bigger signing on fee to guarantee a transfer fee return isn't bad business, as i don't think Forrest would sign a 2 year extension

I'd rather he stayed but he is certainly not irreplaceable. Mainly because he's never truelly reached his full potential.

He'd have his pick of Championship sides and probably a few Premiership ones as well.

Pace is a valuable asset to have for lower Premiership sides.

He'd could quite easily make an impact at a Bournemouth or Watford..

Can't help feel his intelligence or lack of will always hold him back. He's got great attributes but doesn't know how to use them imo
