Ripped their left back then right back so many times, his decision making in the final 3rd still a bit suspect but he did put in a few cracking balls.

Aye, he had a great game out of him and Tierney for MOTM.

You wonder what he's learned from Sinclair too movement wise, also Roberts as you forget he's never really had a proper good wide player to look up to in training or to compete with and play better than. Samaras and Commons were the wide players for most of his time and at the start Brown, Ledley or Mulgrew played wide a lot then more recently Stokes and Armstrong. No similar players to him apart from Mackay-Steven who never done too well now Sinclair and Roberts who are both quality and suddenly he's putting in a lot of work, looking fitter than ever and getting involved in games more than ever.

Anyone else think he's just really not that good? Quick and hard-working, but very one dimensional and limited for me.

He's had a good start to the season, but I'd still start with Roberts every time.

I think his form is far better than Roberts' at the moment and therefore deserves to be starting. He has limitations but he's utilising his strengths very well at the moment.

Up until this season you could remove the second attribute. He's certainly not been hard working the rest of his time at Celtic.

He's proven a few times this season though his game is anything but one dimensional. He's scoring and creating goals and that's ultimately his job.

Roberts is by far the better player IMO but he's out of form and trying too hard to get it back when he is being given a chance.

I don't know how you can watch us this season and say that with a straight face.

Very easily. He runs at the fullback and goes on the outsde, like every time. That's his game. When did he last do an outrageous piece of skill like Roberts does or make a defender look daft with quick feet?

He has no left foot, if I was the fullback I'd be showing him inside every game. He's getting in to the box more, getting some goals, working harder and timing his runs better this season, which I put down to the manager.

He's a good player, but a level below what we have on the other side of the pitch.

He's scored 2 bangers with his left foot this season already, and is constantly going inside and out, as he was again yesterday. Remember him turning the defender inside out at McDiarmid? Was that just going outside and no skill?

    Mega pish..

He's a good player. He's not really that good.

    Which one is it?

He cuts inside constantly, so much so that people were criticising him for it so I don't know where you are getting 'he goes on the outside every time' from.

You don't need to have skill and trickery though, he's a smart player who barely ever loses the ball and causes teams problems and this season has been the main person who carries the ball and starts off a lot of moves. Figo, Giggs, Ljungberg were 3 of the best wide players 15 year or so ago and they weren't tricky highly skilled players they just done the basics to a high level of beating players, keeping possession and delivering consistently.

He's also really dangerous when he comes inside so you'd get the pish ripped out you if you were allowing that, he cuts across the outside of the box playing 1-2s well, thats always been one of the best parts of his game.

I think defenders are showing him inside though, like its a tactic to send him towards the centre backs because he's ineffective on his left side.

He's been cutting inside all season and having intricate interplay with the other forwards, scoring goals with his left foot, right foot and setting up chances.

    Fair Points.

He's definitely had a good start to the season, I just think he has limitations and at the highest level he'll come up short.

Will be more than happy to be proved wrong.

    Hows that funny?

I think Roberts is a better option that offers more and Forrest is limited and was interested in what otther think.

    It's not like I called him a useless *.

He might but it's just good to see him playing well, he's generally always performed well in Europe too. Although doesnt get much credit as we don't do that well in Europe so by mostly losing people just moan about losing but but in Eurpean games over the years Forrest's had good consistency and always troubled teams or put in a good shift. It's usually domestically where he has coasted through games not getting involved enough or looking like he can last 90 minutes at a good tempo compared to what McGeady done before.

If he can perform how he is now over a season contributing 25-30 goals and assists he'll be deserving of his place in the team.

He's a good out bal in Europe with his pace .. can get the team up the pitch.

He'll be a lot quicker if he ever takes that coathanger out his jersey ..
