It sounds like you've given your best to support him but you can't take it anymore.

Really dont think this is happening. He'll need to prove himself just as everyone else will, and no way Brendan saw that in 1 week of training. He'll obviously know the situation he was in last year, so he'll be on even more of a tight leash if he wants to stay. Think these headlines come from the fact he's still here and training with the new manager, nothing more than that. I'm confident he'll be moved on.

I've stuck up for him till I'm blue in the face in here and real life, but last season and his failure to commit and his attitude after, has totally finished me with him. I'll never back the gormless wee nae neck * again..

We can't afford players of Roberts quality though permanently, decent wingers are very hard to come by.

Personally I think a fully fit and on form Forrest under Brendans management will be hard to handle for most sides to deal with, it seems to me that no matter which teams he comes up against either domestically or in Europe he causes them all sorts of problems with his running at pace and skipping by players and winning fouls, it's just his end product can be lacking at times or a lot of the time. This is what Brendan has to try and fix and if he can fix that and keep him fit then we will have a player on our hands. This is most definitely his last chance under Brendan and something tells me he's going to take it.

He's a Celtic player as it stands so he'll get my support. Aye, he can be frustrating but you can't deny his effort. He never bigged himself up to be anything special... That was us and the media. People need to check themselves on the way they're talking about him.

He didn't accept a contract? If that's the reason then grow up. It happens all the time. That's if he even did. He's probably been in discussions for a while. These things take time and the media talk *.

Under Deila I would have wanted out, who would have signed a new contract under that clown. Any young player with any sense would not of wanted to stay. Things have changed with Brendan and wasn't his fault deila refused to play him. My opinion

Brendan Rodgers vows to get James Forrest back on track

Then the Hoops winger became the Lost Bhoy of Parkhead.

Frozen out under Ronny Deila after contract talks collapsed, Forrest’s days looked numbered.

But new boss Brendan Rodgers is ready to hand him a lifeline with the promise of a fresh start.

And the Parkhead gaffer has urged Forrest to grab his chance to impress on the pre-season trip to Slovenia.

He said: “James is a talent. He’s gone off the radar in the last couple of years from where he was at.

“Hopefully in the next six months he can get back on track and see Celtic as the club for him.

“Does he have a future here? Very much so. His contract is up in December and he’s one I am looking forward to analysing.

“James has obviously had a run of injuries and maybe that held him back but he is a big talent.

“I don’t know him well enough yet but I know he has got ability.

“From the few days I have worked with him he looks fit and fresh and hopefully the way I work will suit his aggressive style.

“You have to be able to defend but you also have to be able to attack and he has got great attacking ability.

“So lets hope he can stay clear of injury and recapture his best form.

“I hope over the next six months James sees his future at the club.

“Like with every player, we want them to be here and play for Celtic. But if they don’t want to be here? That’s absolutely fine.

“This is a huge club, one of the biggest in the world, playing in a great league.

“You have the chance to play every other week at Celtic Park. That is a wonderful opportunity for any player.”

I forgot his contract ran till December. In that case he might as well stay here until it expires, hopefully he's able to turn his career around under Brendan. I don't see it though.

Why does his contract last till December anyway? Doesn't pretty much every football contract expire in July?

Good stuff loving the way Brendan is making his mind up on folk already and we've not even played any pre season games yet, shows his eye for a player.

Hopefully by the same token he'll have seen someone like Ciftci is utter pish and put a line through his name to add to the transfer list.

Tierney new contract, Forrest new contract and Rogic after that please and I think that's us sorted on the contract situations needing resolved atm.

He got a 3.5 year contract or something like that meaning it would expire Christmas time.

We all know that Forrest has talent and ability - but we all know where his abundant faults are - his stinking attitude and lack of work ethic.

If, and that's a big IF - Rodgers is able to do something with him, in terms of work on his motivation and desire (as well as injury difficulties), then we have a player on our hands - possibly Rodgers could do with Forrest what he done with Sterling?

If not, then he can get to *.

    It's up to you, Jamesy........

    Hopefully mate.

An in-form Forrest playing with the right attitude is an absolute weapon for us.

Could he be the option for us on the left wing as an inside forward, with Paddy Roberts doing the same on the other side?

Both in full flight would be * unstoppable, if truth be told!

I'm warming to the idea of him being given another chance now........
