He's not able to play every week for a full season, he will have injury problems all his career unfortunately. I reckon we would get 3M for him plus add ons.

GMS has only played over 30 games a season twice in his career. Never over 40.

Agreed, this is definitely his defining season. Almost a year injury free, now is the time to kick on.

I think Forrest is a really good player, lightning quick, skillful and has goals in him, only problem is his injuries... If he gets injured again this season then get rid of him. If he can stay fit then he will be a major threat domestically and in Europe I think. I can remember him outpacing jordi alba by a good bit! He will have full backs * that is if he stays for ofcourse

You can't stand someone having a different opinion from you can you?
Put it this way, would you pay £5million for James Forrest? We picked up Armstrong and Mackay Steven for under £2million for both and you think clubs are going to pay more than double that for an ineffective, injury prone liability?

Until now, he hasn't been at a club that consistently makes cup finals and plays twelve to fourteen games a season in Europe though.

Not yet but if Ronny can keep him fit like he has done for nearly a year now then the starting price will be £5m never mind him going for that price.

    Mackay-Steven played 21, 36, 29, 41 and 39 respectively in the last five seasons.

Injury free pre-season and he'll be flying for this season.

Ronny not over playing any of our wide players which is very important especially for James.

We have options Commons, Stokes, Armstrong, GMS, Henderson & Duffy possibly.

Still need another as arguably only GMS and Forrest are natural in the 4-2-3-1 system...arguably!!

I know, I just don't think you can say he's proven he can play 50 games a season, when he's never played 50 games in a season.

I just mean there're good players out there with that in their tank, within our range. We can't be waiting about forever, hoping that Forrest fulfils his potential.

Agreed, was just a very odd example.

He's been fit for around 8 months now though, so no point ditching him just now when it looks like that is finally going to happen.

Also, just realised he's been at Celtic for 12 years.

    Testimonial anyone? :56:

I've kind of come round to having one natural winger and one more central player on either side.

The wee mans scored some important goals for us.

Last minute goal against Karagandy (to qualify for groups)
Scored away to Spartak Moscow (won 3-2 on route to last 16)
    Goal against Ajax (won 2-1)
Cracker at Easter road to earn a point.

Guys still young and of value to the squad.

    I'd keep him.

He didn't score against Spartak :smiley-laughing002: he missed a net with no keeper and hit it against the only opposition player he could. Thankfully they * it up and fumbled an own goal.

He's not really a young footballer anymore. 24/25 next week or so isn't it?

Doesn't matter if he's not young. This isn't Fifa or football Manager. Players can still improve a lot at 24/25

Aye Ronny does seem to favour that kind of ballance..would still like us to add another wide player but there are other positions that need strengthening first.

CB, LB, ST and arguably another GK more pertinent than a Winger.

He was the difference in the cup final. A literal game changer. He also scored a last minute goal to get us into the CL as well as proven himself on the biggest stage in the CL proper. But * that punt him for 2m and sign whothehellisheavic from the slovenian 2nd tier instead!
