As others have said, Mackay-Steven, for me.

He has just as much pace as Forrest but more ability on the ball and ways of getting by the man.

He can also very easily do the straight burst that you were talking about in regards to Forrest. Done it away against Inter and at home a good few times, for example.

All very good leaving * for dead, but if you don't have the technical ability or footballing brain to do anything about it then it's no use to anyone.

Other than hibs away, and to an extent Spartak away... when did jamesy actually show he's good enough for us?... GMS has actually showed more talent already, which more or less says it all.

Forrest would be a decent player at ICT, I did say aberdeen earlier, but I actually think Johnny Hayes is better.... And I genuinely mean that.

Spot on. We haven't had a striker like that since.

not even a debate in that, Jamesy's shooting is actually probably the worst i've seen at Celtic. In terms of being consistently *.

    You stuck?

He does have more tools in getting by his man, no complaints with that one but there is absolutely nothing wrong with old fashioned bursting full backs down the wing, which for me, shooders is better at than Gms, who I really rate highly. It's a confidence and consistent thing he has to get in to his mindset. I fully expect to see it this year, otherwise GMS, who is number 1 right now and rightfully so, will continue as the main man..

He does have it though, your making out he has no technique, which is *. He just doesn't show it enough, due to injuries and confidence shattered because of that. On his day he's a player, who can terrorize back lines..

A good player for Caley, immediately there best you mean? In fact stick him in any squad in the country and he'd be first name on the team sheet..

Sick of hearing the injury and confidence card to be honest.

He's been fit long enough, he's played plenty games, and he still hasn't impressed me.

Isn't good enough in my eyes, and we should be looking at better... Thankfully Ronny has seen that too in GMS. :50:

I dont really care about any other team in the country, but seeing as you've brought it up, i'll repeat my statement in saying that I dont think I'd start him ahead of Johnny Hayes.

The only thing Hayes has on James Forrest is he has played more in the last few years.

Sick of hearing about the injury and confidence card, why? Is it not relevant as to why he's maybe not consistent enough, just yet? The amount of injuries and lay offs he's had, if anyone is allowed to be fearful of going full pelt, it's him. Although it has to be coaxed out of him, he can't do it forever..

Ronny has seen that GMS is a top player, yes, but has he not repeatedly said that Forrest is a top talent with quality?

I don't care about other sides either, you brought up Aberdeen players and him getting a game at someone like caley:50:

To be honest, it hasn't really got much to do with my argument about Forrest playing for us... i was just mentioning a winger that I'd probably play before Forrest, going on all round abilty GMS and hayes are better players...... Going on pace - Jamesy's only strength, then Jamesy's one of the best in Europe. :icon_mrgreen:

For the record, Hayes is a decent spfl player but technically he is gash..

Im sick of it because if a player can't get a bit of confidence playing for a club our size on the money;s he on, then that's his own fault... and i have absolutely no sympathy for him..

As for injuries.. Aye he got injured a few times, at bad times in the season.. but he's not been injured for at least 9 months, and he's not impressed me at all. infact only 2 games in a Celtic shirt i've seen the hype.. but i feel anyone can do that, if you get the amount of chances Forrest has got....Even fit he was never really as good as GMS is.

He's not good enough. GMS is better, and he should be a benchwarmer this season if we dont pick up injuries. :50:

He can't get confidence because he has been injured so much that mentally it's in the back of his mind that it will happen again. It takes time and long periods injury free to remove those doubts.
He played well just about every time he played last season.

Two games? Come on to * Paddy, be serious.

Genuinely 2 games I've seen him at a level where I've thought, "aye, he's class"

    Spartak and hibs away.

no injury gives him an excuse in my opinion. Theres absolutely no way I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt because his "confidence is low, due to past injuries" He's just not shown he's good enough for us.

He was a bawhair away from * up that tap in against Spartak as well, imagine the dislike towards him if he had. Would be even worse:56:
