    He was having a great game against ICT in the semi and got subbed by Ronny..which was a bit baffling at the time.

    There's no doubt he can be frustrating even when fit but and it sounds like he wasn't ready when called upon after GMS pulled out in Wed.

    It's really down to him he needs to show the desire and realise he's in danger of never fulfilling his potential.

    His ability is not in question:smiley-laughing002: his desire to succeed and work at his game is.

    I'm just using it as an example of how bad his technique is . Ball comes into him he leans right back and opens his foot up to shoot at goal, basically everything you teach kids not to do when striking at goal. How have you not noticed how bad his shooting is? It is glaringly obvious to anyone who knows the very basics of coaching .

    I don't think we can say he has no technical ability, otherwise he'd never have pulled on a Celtic jersey. We have to give him that respect as a professional player who managed to play for Celtic (awaits list of total duds :icon_mrgreen:)

    My main problem with him is his attitude on the park. It is way below what is expected of a Celtic player, especially today's Celtic player under Ronny Deila, who are expected to give 110% and chase the ball back when losing it etc.

    As others pointed out, this carry on with stopping for 10-15 seconds to fiddle with your socks, and just walking about the park after losing the ball, and dropping to your knees with outstretched arms when anyone tackles him, goes a long way in annoying those who don't have total faith in him.

    I've never been his biggest fan, even when others were raving about him, but I think his attitude is very poor, and is getting worse.

    That, for me, is not good enough to pull a Celtic top over your head, and certainly doesn't help in his criticism.

    His attitude is definitely questionable but I have noticed he's drastically curbed lying on the deck after he's been brushed off, and throwing his arms petulantly in the air..

    His close control, 1-2's round the box and first touch prove he HAS technical ability and he HAS shown he can finish neatly, just not consistently enough with all of the above..

    One competitive game into the season lads, chill oot a bit and trust Ronny's judgement, ya dicks.

    It's still pre season, he only played in 1 of 3 friendlies and was called into the team last minute.

    You can't say for sure there are no doubts over his ability whatsoever. He hasn't shown it enough in his time in the first team over the years, for me.

    Forrest has been average most of the time I have seen him play.

    He has great potential, great speed, you just want him to power forward and put that last pass into the box, but instead he loses confidence, turns and passes back or sideways.

    The momentum of attack is lost.

    Aye fair enough, everything is debatable, don't think lack of ability/talent is James' issue tho.

    Injuries, confidence, attitude are his main woes.
