I thought his attitude, like usual, stank.

His entire body language is a disgrace. When he was getting tackled he would walk back to his position knocking us completely out of shape.

likes to stand and pull his socks up were ever he loses the ball, and seems like it takes him ages.

I think he gets pretty harsh treatment. He delivered a few of the most dangerous balls into the box last night, perhaps Lustig's aside. I'd be hesitant to hit the byline if I were him considering it's unusual that we score from that position.

I was there with my uncle who rarely goes to the football, that was what he kept getting * off with.

He thought he was injured because he kept taking a couple of minutes to fix his * socks. It looked like he was holding his calf.

That is a disgrace for a professional footballer.

Probably just misunderstood everycunt telling him to pull his socks up:56:

The fact he is talented just makes him all the more frustrating.

this, he never uses his raw talent that he has, and the one thing any full back hates, and that is running at pace and getting to the by line, he plays on the right, but he acts like a right footed winger playing on the left.

    For me bench at best.

He's got pace and that's it for me.

I'll be happy with Commons coming back and most defo GMS.

My feelings on him are crystal clear on here.

I'd love to be proved wrong, and for Forrest to become the player that a lot of people have been saying he is for the past few years. It seems he has been given more chances than anyone in recent years, albeit he has suffered many injuries, but I just see an ordinary player with a terrible attitude on the park.

If both players are fully fit, I'd have GMS in my team every day of the week.

    Just my opinion.

    This.

I do not know why he continuously gets these chances, he hasn't shown that he has any real talent to me at all.. He's shown he's got pace.

He has the technical ability of a brush.

It's so frustrating that his strongest attribute is his pace yet he insists on cutting in on his weaker foot instead of getting to the by line and getting balls in to the box, the one time he did it last night nearly lead to a goal.

He's not THAT talented though, is he?

He has pace(which he doesn't know how to use). I struggle to think of many other attributes he has that stick out.

His shooting from range is horrible.
    His finishing can be suspect
    His work rate is pish
    He's weak
    He's injury prone
His technique isn't great, very one dimensional. With GMS or McGeady they always have a number of ways to go by a player or get the shot away. Forrest knocks it by him and hopes he can somehow pace the guy. He done it last night but my granny was faster than their left back ffs.

I don't rate him at all and never really have, I don't see why others continually give him this 'wee Jamesy' tag and back him to the hilt.

I honesty think that it's because he is a homegrown player. If he was a foreigner and had been given 5 year to continually try and prove himself there would be anarchy:56:

At his best he's great at knowing when to cut in, when to release the ball, quick passing movement, beating men with pace, finishing...

He is talented. There's no doubt about that, problem is he's not shown it in a long time now. Due to a combination of poor form, confidence and injuries.

He's getting on now though, so this season is his very last chance for me.

At his best I don't think anyone could doubt he's talented.

The reason many are * at him is because they know he's capable of so much more because he's shown it plenty of times before in flashes.

He obviously has some sort of talent, aye.

What I was getting at though, is that I don't feel it's there in abundance like some seem to think.

He has an excellent first touch, close control when running at full pelt and his link up play can be really good..
For me, belief and confidence are his two biggest hindrances. He needs to believe whoever he is up against that he can trust himself to beat them on the outside for pace, or coming in and more mixing it up as sometimes he's too predictable..
It's early in the season so I'm not overly worried, but there is every chance if he doesn't start reacting to a guy(gms) who looks like grabbing his slot without too much fuss, then he'll be on the bench more often than not..

Can see why people have written off, but he needs us the fans to help build his fragile confidence and not give him pelters when he tries something doesn't come off.

Mentally he must fear injury everytime he plays, Ronny seems to know how to handle this aspect and knows when to play him, he can be a massive asset this season.

But he needs to realise too, that his attitude needs to be 100% this season or his career will just pass him by.

He gets unfair treatment and its annoying, two guys that sit beside me love to shout at him the second he takes a heavy touch or misplaces a pass - every time bang on cue - this sums up the attitude towards him for me, he is definitely more critiqued than any other player

I'm not saying he was great last night because he wasn't, however he wasn't anywhere near the worst and did put in a fair few dangerous balls into the box and nearly scored. First game of the season and no one was at the races really apart from Armstrong in the second half, patience please lads.

Comes inside far too often for a winger, the number of times there was loads of space on the right in the first half and he was floating about beside Ciftci was mental. Needs to get back to what he used to do, beat a man to the by line and whip it in and stop coming in as much.

Used to enjoy him being in the team, sad days when I was actually disappointed that he was starting last night.

He can be frustrating at times but does seem to get much more stick than most players. One heavy touch and he's getting slaughtered. Hopefully as the season goes on he'll sharpen up a bit and get back to his best. Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere but why didn't GMS start? He was in the starting lineup with Forrest on the bench right before kickoff. Did he get injured warming up?

Why do people always want him to go down the outside of players anyway? so he can cross in for nocunt to get on the cross lol

For me he should always cut inside and look to play 1-2s and get through them or have a shot.

Even last night he put 2 great balls into Ciftci after going down the outside of players, one Ciftci got on and it was saved and the other even better ball Ciftci was too slow to react and didnt get onto it.

We could plant Beckham and Nakamura on the wings and allow them to put 10 crosses a game in each and not score and probably barely even get on the end of any of them as we don't have those types of player.

Johansen isn't like a Petrov or Ledley who gets in the box for headers and Griffiths and Ciftci although ok in the air for their sizes are not Hartson, Sutton, Larsson or Vennegoor. Putting crosses in only leads to balls wasted 9/10 the other 1/10 times we get on it nothing usually happens either. We're lucky if we score 1 goal out every 50 attempted crosses.

Armstrong if he played the no 10 role behind Scepovic would probably be the only set up worth crossing the ball into the box for as both are quite good in the air and would probably score a few but are really never going to play.
