If that's the case, move on ASAP.

He does look good, but he doesn't really look like a natural LW anyway.

  2. The have a choice to sell either him or Antman and the offer they have for Antman is much better than ours for Bruem

https://www.tipsbladet.dk/nyhed/benelux/her-er-prisen-paa-brandvarm-jakob-breumMedie: Her er prisen på Jakob Breum

Jakob Breum is highly sought after this summer after a fantastic last season in Dutch football, and Celtic, led by Brendan Rodgers, are particularly keen to buy the Go-Ahead Eagles star.

According to Soccernieuws, however, the parties are far apart.

The Dutch media reports that Go-Ahead Eagles will under no circumstances sell Jakob Breum for less than six million euros, which is equivalent to a good 45 million kroner.

That price scares Celtic, who are not prepared to pay that much for the 21-year-old offensive player.

In fact, Celtic have already made an offer for him, but the bid was a mere 1.5 million pounds – 13 million kroner – which was rejected immediately.

According to Record Sport, Go-Ahead Eagles will not lower the price of the Dane, partly due to a resale clause that OB negotiated when they sold him. According to the media, OB will receive 25 percent of the profit that Go-Ahead Eagles makes on a sale of the Dane.

In addition, the club, who were Dutch Cup winners last season, have qualified for the Conference League, and they want to keep their star players for that adventure.

Record Sport also reports that patience may well pay off when it comes to the price of Jakob Breum. Next summer, the Dane will – according to Record – be available for between 2.5 and 3 million euros.

Therefore, it may well appear that Jakob Breum will remain with Go-Ahead Eagles for the upcoming season, unless another club or Celtic is willing to pay the 45 million kroner that Go-Ahead Eagles are demanding for him.

The Dane was in great form last season, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in all competitions.

  5. Did we make 1 bid or 3 bids? Seems to be a lot of conflicting reports. Seems to have most likely been 1 bid and we walked away after.

He scored 10 and assisted 8 or something last season in a league for better than ours. Even if we were just testing the waters, that bid is a riddy.

  7. It would be hilarious (not hilarious) if the reason we don't get him is that Rangers paid the money that we wouldn't for Antman and so allowing them to hold out for more from us.

    We are an absolute embarrassment.

So reading that, there's a clause that allows him to leave for £2m next summer?

Wonder if that comes into effect end of the January window.

The most telling line from that article, and one that sums up this (once more) window.

    "That price scares Celtic"

  10. £5m and we’re not prepared to pay it. * me!

  11. Next year we'll bid 500k.
Eagles should just delete our number.

  12. Think he would be a class Hatate replacement but don’t see him as a winger myself. No point spending £5m on him when Hatate looks likely to stay.

That being said, we should be trying to find a long term successor to Reo and this boy looks like he could well take up that mantle so maybe we are happy to wait until his buy out clause of £2m activates next year and we move on Reo.

Issue with that is, he goes and has an even better season and then there's 100 odd clubs after him for that price.

I'd rather just pay the additional money and get him in now to add more creativity both out wide and centrally...I don't think we can get enough of that atm. We saw how poor we looked whenever Hatate wasn't there. Nygren will help.

    Scott Burns in the record

Go Ahead Eagles have made it clear that they won’t sell Celtic target Jakob Breum for anything less than £5million this summer.

Record Sport understands that the Dutch side won’t budge on their selling price because they have to pay 25 per cent of a sell-on to his former club, Odense.

Go Ahead have also qualified for the Europa Conference League and they want to keep their top stars for that.

Record Sport has also learnt that the Danish under-21 cap would be available for a fraction of the price, nearer £2million if he was to remain until next summer.

Celtic have made an offer and held further talks but went in at just over £1.5 million that was dismissed.

The Hoops have been reluctant to go close to Go Ahead’s current fee.

Unless they or another club meet the asking price then he won’t be leaving Holland in this window.

  17. That's Celtic preparing a 2,75m bid.

    Yup

  19. I’d rather pay the money now, too.

We know how we operate, though. We are reactionary and always have been. The sale of Kuhn shows that, with still no successor brought in. We bring in this lad and he’s been put out on the wing and he’s not a winger.

Until the club changes, it’s pointless going over the same things. The club will never be proactive until the structure of the club changes and we all know that’s never going to happen.
