Notts have today been linked with a loan move for Celtic's Australian Under 20 international midfielder Jackson Irvine on a long-term loan deal. Rumours of a Celtic midfielder joining on loan initially surfaced on the NCM messageboard, but an Australian football page on Facebook have now caught wind of the rumours and named 20 year-old Jackson Irvine as the man who may be on his way to Nottingham. Irvine joined Celtic as a 17 year-old having come through the youth system at A-League club Melbourne Victory and made his debut for the Bhoys last season, whilst he has also been capped 12 times for the Australian Under 20 side. Able to play anywhere in the centre of midfield, Irvine seems to be the man that Chris Kiwomya has identified to provide competition to a midfield currently lacking in competition.

Cracking young player, loan deal might be good for him but if they end up buying him i'll hurt them!:smiley-laughing002:

Hope so. Really like the look of him. He is a tidy sprayer of the ball.

Would be excellent to send him out on loan. Looks a good player:50:
-
Loan move will be good for him hope it happens. We should try loan out a few youngsters this season.
-
I think this would be a good move if we actually have any intention on using him when he returns to us. Looks a good prospect and reminds me in ways of Ledley.
-
Sounds a good move give him some game time, as long as he comes back if he develops well.

He's a great player

Sad to say, but I'd be more inclined to play Irvine & let a team loan or buy Kayal.
I think this guy has potential to be a cracking DM, his passing is fantastic & is so assured on the ball.
Kayal last night was a bit of a bombscare, sadly looks like being a one season wonder. :54: -
Irvine is nowhere near ready for our first team, a loan would do him the world of good.

Using him as back up/rotation, drip feeding him 1st team experience. I could handle that.
Kayal seems to be a pal reflection of his former self.
Are we going to persevere with Beram, as back up to Ledley & Brown, in the hope he rediscovers his 1st season's form?
I'd be happy to see us drip feed Irvine, at least he'd be getting experience with us.
A loan is better than Development games though, so if we're sticking with Kayal as back up, then this is the way to go. -

Would be ideal get him out and playing games.

Hopefully he does well out on loan.
Not going to get my hopes up, too many of our youth players never fulfil their potential. -

Been impressed what I've seen of this kid, calm, good in possession, strong physically, good in the air,a midfielder that is very competent in defence..
Think he can come back after a year maybe even 2 on loan and make it at us -

Away to Killie maybe? Doesn't say if permanent or loan, assume its a loan. -

Very interested to see him today in a starting midfield role. If he's better today than Kayal, then I'd really rather see Kayal move on & see Irvine take his place as 1st team backup. If not then a loan is better than the reserves, I'd like a clause similar to Barca's with Ajax that if he's fit then he plays.
