  1. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

Still a long time yet and has been quite a while since we've made a big move in the market, we'll wait an see where this all takes us..

    Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

Jackie has been a loyal servant to us for 10 years!! and we only repay him with a 1 yr deal?? * mental.
I was have given the man what he wanted. The board seriously need to get their act together now and bring in some quality players. We have no defence at all now. Jackies away and Bobo aswell.

Rangers have just signed a good player who we have strongly been linked with in the past. * is going on?

  2. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

for * sake what the hells going on at parkhead.
do the board not realise that they must reward loyalty and keep hold of the good players that have dedicated themselves to celtic and want to stay
im fekin ragin today cant even think straight about what i want to say
    hail hail

To be honest mate, Jackie could perform well enough in the EPL. He's been one of the outstanding players in Hoops the last 3 or 4 seasons in the SPHell and in the Champ League.

I saw a couple of Notts Forest's league games this season and Jackie will be outstanding for you. Congrats on getting a good player, it just underlines what a * joke Celtic are.

Another point, If GS is wanting to bring in younger guys, why are we linked with Niemi and Phillips?????? I know its only speculation but there's no smoke without fire.

  5. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

Why is everyone surprised by this???
This type of scenario was always on the cards, the CL qualifiers are starting in a few weeks and we won't even have a team to compete in it.
This board will have to go and soon or we'll be a laughing stock throughout Europe.
How can someone be given a job, after being out for 15 months, then being allowed to * off on holiday at the time he should be consolidating the side. Doesn't surprise me in the least. TOTAL MADNESS.

  6. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

I cant beleive this It looks like Jackie was given a one year extension he started talking to wolves and when celtic found out they offered him two years but he declined * his happening!

  7. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

We'll be playing Gretna next season if they come up from the 2nd at this rate!!!

    Jackie: Wolves wanted me more

Celtic captain Jackie McNamara insists he bears no ill-will towards the Bhoys despite confessing to disappointment the Glasgow giants had not fought harder to keep him.

McNamara has joined the Molineux club on a two-year contract after turning down the offer of a one-year extension at Celtic and departing Parkhead on a no-fee Bosman transfer.

With Wanderers boss Glenn Hoddle in Spain on holiday, the final stages of negotiations were completed via telephone, with McNamara having given a verbal agreement to sign on Monday night.

The 31-year-old said: "I gave Celtic an opportunity to sign me to a new contract but I was a little surprised and disappointed it took them so long.

"It could have all been started before the end of last season and if we'd started talking then, I don't think I'd be with Wolves now, two weeks before the start of pre-season.

"But it took them a long time to make me an offer whereas Wolves made me feel important to their plans, they showed a great interest.

"I told Celtic I was leaving and they spoke to me as I travelled down - but I'd already given my word to Wolves.

"Once I gave my word to Wolves, that was it. I was coming down here for my medical and then I was going to sign - there's no ill will towards Celtic though.

"I have a great affection and always will have for the place and the people and the club itself.

"As I say I'm disappointed with the way it finished and it's a wrench to have left but I'm excited about coming to Wolves.

"I spoke to Kenny Miller and Colin Cameron, who I know through the Scotland set-up, and they spoke very highly of the manager and the club.

"As far as I'm concerned, they are a Premiership club in the wrong division."

Wolves executive Jez Moxey said: "We spoke to Jackie and he gave us his word he was going to sign.

"We then spoke to Celtic to tell them what we were going to do, as is the protocol in football.

"After that Celtic basically went into overdrive to keep him and even contacted him when he was travelling down for his medical.

"But Jackie gave us his word he was going to sign and that was good enough for us.

"Jackie was at Celtic for 10 years, gave them great service and we do see this as a massive coup for our club, signing him on a two-year deal."

McNamara said: "The change of management at Celtic wasn't really a factor, although I've only ever spoken to Gordon Strachan twice since he came in - and on neither of those occasions about my contract."

  12. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

we offered him a two year deal-says on the celtic site

  13. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

nice one GS. just you enjoy your holiday lad, the contracts'll work themselves out in the end.

  14. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

This football club is going to * in a handcart with this board. Strachan it would appear wants to start up a new club by allowing everyone to leave and then see whats around the transfer market. Is anyone else concerned about the type of players that have emerged as targets recently.
Why offload all the over 30's then make a beeline to England and sign everyone that's over 30, does this really make sense????????

  15. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

if eveybody leaves then that will give the young lads a chance to shine and in the SPL they could be stars

  16. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

Complete disgrace, perhaps using Dermott Desmond's logic the fans should have payed more for their season books and started negotiations with Jackie!!!! Strachan has been off for 18 months, so why the holiday at the most crucial time? Strachan should have been there to show he is our man after the last day debacle at Motherwell. "Sack the Board" There, I've said it, * useless shower of tossers! Who is conducting transfer negotiations at CP, or is the board now on holiday? CL qualifiers are fast approaching, and at this rate we can't expect a new team to gel that quickly. The Bellamy deal should have been done by now, not too excited about others that we're linked with. Cheerio Jackie, good luck to a Celtic legend.

  17. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

Lets all laugh at Celtic once again. We tried to offer him a new deal when he was in the car on the way to Wolverhampton-how fu**ing embarassing. I bet this was a last ditch attempt by the board to save some face with us THE FANS!! It gets worse every summer. :47:

  18. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

We offer Jackie an improved offer on his way to sign for Wolves....
I believe we are trying to get Bellamy on a year long loan.... (pls tell me this one is pish)
Is the old board still in residence?

Can the last one to leave please leave the lights on for the youth team to take us into the CL qualifiers?

  19. Re: jackie mac to wolves!!!!??

youve hit the nail on the head with it being embarressing mate.

for wolves fans to see this:

" "At 31 he can play for many years and hopefully this is the start of a long relationship. Celtic went into overdrive to try and dissuade him from coming to Molineux. But he is here and this is a new chapter in his career.""

on their website is mega embarressing. we shouldnt have to crawl to prevent players going to other (no offence) much lesser clubs.

is this bullshit coming from celtic now?
