Defenders quite often don't reach their potential till their mid twenties.

All about opinions but I thought he was poor for both goals and pretty * in general..

    Positionally he isn't good
Very poor in the air, no just for the goal
Isn't strong or imposing enough for a centre half
Passing was ok and nothing more..

He's never good enough for us..

For me though in that position Hendry’s focus more has to be on the striker and his movement as much as the ball. If Hendry is focused on what the striker is doing and makes sure he is the tight or goal side he gets himself between the striker and the ball and more than likely wins a free kick or clears it.

I do agree the keeper probably should push it wider but I think Hendry could have done a bit better.

The Scotland international has spent the past seven months working under Blessin at KV Oostende, after joining the Belgians on loan from Celtic.

Bottom of the Premier League following a miserable campaign, United will be in the market for a new centre-half this summer if top-flight clubs look to cherry pick their best talent when relegation is mathematically confirmed.

And, although Rhys Norrington-Davies is set to be given an opportunity to stake a claim for a first team role when his temporary agreement with Stoke City expires, that would see Hendry inevitably linked with Bramall Lane given his relationship with Blessin.

Capped five times by his country, Hendry has made nearly 30 appearances since moving to the Versluys Arena - helping Oostende climb to fifth in the table, despite languishing in 15th when competition was halted because of the Covid-19 pandemic last term.

In order to offer Blessin the chance to replace Chris Wilder, who left Bramall Lane a month ago, United must persuade the authorities he qualifies for a Governing Body Endorsement (GBE) under football’s post Brexit employment guidelines.

However Hendry is not subject to the same criteria. Born in Glasgow, he started his professional career with Partick Thistle before being signed by Wigan Athletic. After making only three appearances in Greater Manchester, he joined Dundee ahead of his switch to Parkhead.

Aged 25 and approaching the final 12 months of his contract with the former Scottish Premiership champions, Hendry’s future north of the border will be decided by whoever succeeds Neil Lennon at the helm. Eddie Howe, the former AFC Bournemouth and Burnley manager, is expected to accept the role following talks in London.

Voted the best player in Belgium by some ratings website.

Credit where it’s due. He was abysmal for us and then suffered a terrible injury in his first game for Melbourne City.

Somehow he has bounced back and he’s doing it in a league that is a higher standard than the SPFL.

The safest option would be to sell him while his value is high. We can’t afford to bring him back and for him to revert to being pish again.

With 1 year left on his contract, an opportunity to offload, free up wages, this will be a no brainer.

He obviously thrives at a smaller club in a smaller stadium in front of no crowd, anyone silly enough to think he should be given another chance needs to give themselves a slap, far too weak a mentality to play for a club our size, I can still remember a couple seasons back away to Killie people talking about him greeting and being told to man up by Boyata during the game, a useless shitebag coward at any club bigger than Dundee.

When Jack Hendry, one of the worst defenders I've seen for us in a while (although there's a few here now that would give him a run for his money) is apparently the best player in your league and the huns smash 9 goals and counting passed your 2nd placed team then I would be seriously questioning the standard of that league.

Jack Hendry was pish and still is pish. Watching him flailing about for Scotland recently after getting told he had morphed into Beckenbauer just confirmed it all over again. If we can get a couple of million for him we should tear the hand right off them.
