CELTIC have entered the market for a promising forward from an MLS club.

Reports from the States claim a Scottish team had failed in multiple attempts to sign Columbus Crew attacker Jacen Russell-Rowe

And SunSport understands the club interested is Brendan Rodgers side, who is looking to add further attacking options to his squad.

Russell-Rowe, 21, was part of the Canada squad that reached the semi-final of the Copa America this month.

A team-mate of current Hoops star Alistair Johston, Russell-Rowe has netted five times and provided one assist in the MLS for Columbus so far this campaign.

And Rodgers believes he could be the perfect addition to his team following the recent success of Johnston and former Motherwell striker Theo Bair

American sports journalist Tom Bogert claims a Scottish club had submitted more than one proposal for the player but the bids were swiftly booted out by Columbus chiefs.

And SunSport understands the club in question is no other than the Parkhead club

Third striker option most likely, remember Rodgers said we need 2 strikers

So most likely recommended by Johnston's agent.

Had a wee look at some of his highlight videos on youtube. Seems decent. No idea what sort of money they would be after but scoring 5 goals for Colombus at 21 means it won't be cheap, I wouldn't imagine.

Tall, pretty quick. Could be a decent development option for Rodgers as 3rd choice.
3 goals in 13 appearances. No idea in mins played though

The MLS is absolute dung anytime I've watched it particularly from a defensive perspective so attacking numbers even if really impressive would be dubious.

His aren't insane but he's young and if it was for a third development option then aye.

I wasn’t a massive fan of OH so does this boy have more potential? Would it have been better keeping him and developing him if that was possible? I totally trust BR’s judgement, just a question.

How we seem to do all our * "scouting". It's utterly pathetic. The board need to be removed for us to ever have any hope of aiming to do anything in Europe.

I'm not entirely convinced it was us who was bidding. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Aberdeen

I always find it hard to gauge the level as it seems similar base level to Scotland, maybe even lower, with the odd brilliant player or two in each team.

One thing is for sure, if you don’t look good as an attacker over there, you will toil over in Europe. Don’t think ive watched an MLS game without at least 4 goals in it.

Looks decent , some nice finishes in there , Canada is one of those nations experiencing a surge in talent and at 21 then I would be all for as 3rd choice, I like the fact that some of his goals he has hung back rather than trying to get in behind and the space has opened up for him to score from the edge of the box
